The men fueled up with the correct gas

Should read "correct fuel".

in an 18-wheeler with a white tractor truck

How about "tractor trailer". And was it a Volvo White tractor, or was the tractor white in color?

Typically tractors carry 250 to 300 gallons and get, depending on the gross weight, from 6 to 7 mpg. Do the math.

Quebec to Byers, CO is 1988 miles. Can anyone calculate the capacity of an average semi and how often it would have to refuel?

WHo cares about the fuel.

The truckers of America would be terrific help help in locating curious or suspected vehicles on the loose. In this case, the description is so good, it would only be a matter of minutes in locating this transverse track of that vehicle if the truckers along those routes were notified.

I hope homeland security along with the FBI and CIA has initiated a trucker alarm system or alert system to be fed out over their CB's.

And I hope the canadian border patrol will be stopping and inspecting EVERY truck that approximates the description.

Taking your figures of 300 gallons at 7 miles per gallon, a full tank would take you 2100 miles. The distance between Quebec and Byers is 1988.

Haluling a load, they wont get 7 mpg. They will be lucky to do 6.3. Few tractors are ordered with twin 150 gallon tanks. Figure 1500 miles tops. Mpg will suffer if they try to avoid weight stations.

"Oh? My vehicle requires diesel instead of unleaded petrol? Praise Allah you have helped us secret commandos on our holy mission to punish the infidels!" There was that case last year in Georgia/Florida where Middle Easterners were playing up to a woman in a restaurant, and caused quite a stir. Perhaps the same thing is happening here. Let's not take any chances, though!

I hope everyone will take a look at your post #115 again. All this talk of boric acid and such is a distraction from the fact that the authorities are really concerned about this truck and are looking for it.

People! FOCUS, FOCUS!!!

This is a little hard to believe because this truck has to go through every single weigh station on the highway. They use a computer database to check the trucks license and registration info.

Few weigh stations on Highway 36, from my personal experience. Those that are there are often closed. Plus, you could dodge them by taking state highways around those that are open.

It's kind of hard to BOLO if you don't know what you're looking for.

Did they even say if the tractor was conventional or cabover?

I know I'm tired, did I miss a decent description of the truck somewhere?

Boric acid. Hey that's the main ingredient in the roach powder I use. If the roaches (terrorists) are now stealing the roach powder, I know we're in trouble, LOL.

Phosphorus ain't exactly difficult to get, but if you were hard up I guess you could rig something up with potassium chlorate.
