France may have destroyed the U.N. as a serious institution.

If France can destroy the UN, will we still hate them?

Of course, we will.

Hmmmm, maybe we should be thanking the French.....

I have a friend who was a pathfinder in Vietnam. He said the deal that the French did with the UN was that we (US of course) would have to compensate them $100,000 for every rubber tree that we blew up. So Vietnam from their perspective was about saving their rubber plantations.

They could well have made a deal in hell with Iraq. France could be hurredly asking, through its companies, to the Iraq customers, to have evidence of any French complicity destroyed; and the deal is the France would stall on the international front to give Iraq enough time. Iraq, on the other hand, may need many of those materials, machines, and what not, to fight when the great infidel comes. A lot of crap is going to come out over this. I think the French know their products, services and companies are 'toast' in the huge American market for them, for years to come. It will serve them right.

Steyn's piece indeed has an interesting take, that France's target is not just the U.S., but Tony Blair. Eliminating Blair would eliminate a rival for EU leadership. That would explain why Blair was eager to organize the group of eight to push back at France.

Too bad the leftie Labourites are so blinded by their anti-Americanism that they don't see the French want them out and the europhobic Tories in so there is no British rival to their leadership of the EU.

Yes, let's rustle their truffles. That will get them where it counts.

Mmmm. I promise I'll use only American eggs and butter in the omelettes!

They've been messing with us for years anyway.

I bet that's bottled French tap water.

Otherwise, why would it spell out N-A-I-V-E backwards?

These days when I hear Powell he sound TICKED.

He worked and worked and worked to get the French to sign off on Resolution #17. He thought he had 'em.

But, no. The cheese-eating surrender monkeys are also the

FROG-LEGGED BACKSTABBERS.

They double-crossed Powell and all of us. They will pay.

Holy crap! You're right about that name. I quit drinking Evian-naivE water long ago after I read an article about it. I don't know if it was here or on Drudge's site, but it said that, in repeated tests, European bottled waters come up with traces of human feces in them. I don't know if the Europeans like traces of feces in their water or if they just think it's funny to sell it to us that way, but it's disgusting either way.

Only American waters for me. I make sure to tell this to anyone I see with Euro-fecal water. Most people are very appreciative of the info.
