It is a post office on Congress Street, Boston. Video shows lots of police and fire showed up. Still no details yet. Probably a false alarm but better safe than sorry.

I doubt this is really anything. Do you think terrorists really believe that the President opens his own mail? Or that this letter would get anywhere NEAR the White House?
I think we all know the A.N.S.W.E.R......

I don't know what Level 3 means...probably hazard level. That's why I put it in quotes; that's all they said.

they know it was dropped in the slot by a woman this morning? exactly how stupid and brazen is she?

BFD and BPD just dropped off the sample downstairs, we're getting it logged in and it's off to the lab for ME.
In case y'all don't know, I work at the Mass DPH dealing with these things. "Level 3" just means that they're dealing with it as a Bio-level 3 agent
I'll give a heads-up if and when I can. We just got REALLY busy...and I'm supposed to be flying out to Cali.

...containing a white substance; it was addressed to the President... I guess Bubba Bill's change of address card never made it to one of his dealers.

'Suspicious' Letter May Have Held Rice
Post Office Sealed Off Late Friday After Residue Detected
POSTED: 2:02 p.m. EST February 14, 2003
UPDATED: 2:08 p.m. EST February 14, 2003
BOSTON -- Postal inspectors are now saying that a suspicious envelope that forced the closing of a post office at Boston's Faneuil Hall may have contained grains of rice.
Authorities sealed off the post office late Friday morning after a postal employee noticed a powdery residue on the outside of the envelope, which was addressed to President Bush.
Assistant U.S. Postal Inspector Harold Lane says preliminary indications are that the envelope was part of an anti-war protest in which activists have been mailing rice to the president.
The movement draws on a passage from the Bible's book of Romans. It reads: "If your enemies are hungry, feed them."
Lane says the substance on the letter is still being tested to make absolutely certain it doesn't contain any hazardous substances.
