May have it figured out with Hillary running this filibuster after being on the phone for awhile today! It has been really bothering me that she is taking the RATs down the plank on this one because there is no political capital to be gained -- instead it is alienating the Hispanic voters against the DemocRATs so I asked myself and others WHY?

I did some checking on Estrada's Resume and found: 1992 - 1997 U.S. Department of Justice Solicitor General’s Office,
Assistant to the Solicitor General

During the time he was in DOJ, special counsels were named to investigate the Whitewater scam and others involving not only Clinton but his wife as well. Depositions were taken, testimony before the Grand Jury, etc. During the time of the initial investigations, including Paula Jones, Estrada was in the DOJ Solicitor's Office. This was prior to Monica but there was plenty of evidence in DOJ against the Clintons that perhaps Estrada has seen.

Now we have him nominated to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals which would oversee anything against the clintons (there is always hope). No way does she want Estrada sitting the D.C. Circuit knowing what he probably knows about the clintons.

Would bet that Hillary Clinton has the documents they are seeking and probably more from her stooges inside the DOJ. What if Estrada wrote an opinion about the DOJ trying to keep Paula Jones from suing Clinton while in office? There are any number of items that could be written up as an opinion by Estrada that could be tied to the Clintons.

IMHO Hillary Clinton cannot afford to have Maguel Estrada sitting on the D.C. Circuit and is thus tanking the DemocRATs. She will lie, cheat, and steal (documents) to keep him off the D.C. Circuit!

Boring day. I wanted to see Rummy take on the Bolsheviks in the Senate Armed Services Committee, but Democrats can only focus on one Supreme Party order at a time, so they didn't have the intellectual vitality to rain contempt on our military AND conduct a racist vendetta on a brilliant judge candidate and sublime American immigrant success story. It's tough to rally a Democrat minority, because like all serpents, 20% are incapacitated at any given time while shedding their skins.

I'm waiting for the Fritz Hollings LSD trip to commence.

Shameless liars......all of them. After each has left the floor, I have fired off an e-mail calling them on their antics.

Max Baucus is lying through his teeth about this whole story of his virtuous selection of suggested nominees.

Does anyone believe that he set up a committee and told them that he didn't care if they were Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative? Their BS is beyond belief.

Very good detective work.

At what point does her influence start to wane? Those FBI files are getting old, you know. Terry isn't bringing in as much money as before. Bill is an obvious loser on the campaign trail.

At some point, the Rats are going to wake up and realize that the Clintons are an albatross around their necks.

Expecting the Democrats to NOT filibuster, expecting 7 Democrats to have integrity and respect for their duty is always a LOSER. Thune should be in office. Gorton should be in office. Abraham should be in office. The Toricelli switcharoo should have been litigated to the SCOTUS, and Frybrained Frank should never have been seated. If you have 56 GOP votes instead of 51, it makes all the difference in the world in exactly these kinds of situations.

What you said very well here is EXACTLY why 1. the GOP needs to push voter fraud reform. 2. we need to get 60 GOP Senators, WITH Bush in office to start getting some real judges through. Freepers, I know we said 2002 was key. Well, it was, and we got the Senate back. But 51, when one is Chaffee, and one is McCain, and one is etc...is NOT a conservative majority. We need more CONSERVATIVE senators.

Well we know one thing, nothing that W wants is going to get done including the tax cuts with these racist elected American traitors in DC.

I think it's a good bet to say the Dems will block everything they can .. they did it when they had contol of the Senate

Very interesting theory, but....let me poke a few holes....first, she'd have to give a better reason that that to get the rest of the Dems to go along.....especially the 7, or 17, who are running for President.....BTW..do you have info as to what the six pack have said.....what did Holy Joe say?...and has Biden said that he'd vote against cloture?..I think they're gonna cave in a few days..give a big "for the good of the country" speech...try to regain the high ground....this way they've gicen some red meat to their base...and they'll exact Pickering's head and maybe Owen's as a consolation prize

Hitlery has not got a clue. She and Bill are behind all this turmoil. Their attitude is that Estrada must be stopped at all cost. The cost of this fight will be the demolition of the Democrat Party. This is great stuff.

I think these are the following reasons the dems are going after Estrada.

1) It's DC Circuit. It reviews all Executive and Congressional actions. Estrada would limit the rats' ability to legislate from the bench.

2) He's currently on the law firm that successfully argued the recount vote for Bush in 2000. That's enough to drive them mad.

3) He's a minority the Republicans pushed to a high profile bench seat.

I just don't get it. The Rats are risking an awful lot going after him. It just doesn't add up.
