I guess she just needed some time to herself < /sarcasm> I wonder if she'll come back pregnant.

Their father lives in Thornton and is under a restraining order to meet with the children only on supervised visits.

Must be because he is a bad parent, unlike her.

I expect to get flamed, but children at that age can take care of themselves and the younger ones for a couple of weeks. I don´t remember being helpless from ten on.

And no, I wouldn´t get up and leave my children for two weeks for an Italian vacation. I´m just saying children aren´t as helpless as the social police think they are.

"Police were called to the home in the 2400 block of 17th Avenue on Feb. 4, the day after the mother left."

I am sure that the person who made this call was "feeling" pretty good about themselves that they had done the "right" thing.

The fact that the children are no removed from their biological mother's care and are now in the "state" foster care program, this disruption in their lives is more harmful then being taken care of by your older sister while your mother is gone.

If the "dogooder" really wanted to help, why did they not spend an hour or two in the evening feeding and supervising the children to make sure they were safe and taken care of.

Oh, but that might take some effort.

Instead call the cold, sterile "state" to come in and make things worse.

Good call.

What kind of a man want a woman who does not check on her young children frequently while on a two week holiday?

The mother is not doing this alone.

If he had any worth, he would be asking and making sure this poor excuse of a mother checked in with her kids.

They'll probably put the father in jail.

I was 18 when my mom decided to go to Italy for two weeks with my father and left me home with five kids.

We survived.

AFP and German magazine Stern report that authorities from both of their governments have determined that the woman is not in material breach of her responsibilities as a parent. Said Joschka Fischer, "I understand that she was in Italy trying to find a good husband to provide a proper role model for her children. I have been told the trigger happy American authorities are planning on arresting her for abandoning her children, and I just do not agree that is what happened."

Upon learning that the Greeley police were involved, the French offered their conditional surrender to the city of Greeley. The condition of their surrender is that the French will not be beaten to a pulp by another high school music department.
