Not that I would ever argue against being prepared for anything, but my prediction is that we won't see any terrorism from this war. There'll be plenty of alerts and maybe even a few close calls (or what will be made to appear to be close calls), but al-Quesadilla knows that if they commit another atrocity, they will be utterly destroyed.
On 9/11, the country was in total shock and didn't know what to do. People are creatures of habit and routine, and the country's routine was peace, and people were in no mood to change it. In fact, many (myself included, I confess) were wishing it was all some kind of bad dream that we would soon wake up from. Now, it's different. Now, there's a different routine, and a different mood. And I think Al Q knows that.
I don't like to think this but we are not ready for any attacks. The only safeguards are in the Washington D.C. area. The rest of the country is abandoned to the many terrorists and gangs that will take advantage of any disruptions. Our borders are a sieve, our military bases are empty, there is no defense that is even credible.
