That's gonna leave a mark.

Now's,how's your Al Gore fan club membership doing these days? Not much. A week after we protested Gore at his book signing at Olsson's in Arlington, he's on 20/20 WHINING about the Freepers that drove him out of Chenney's house and then he pulls out of the race.
God that was fun.
To: Fred Mertz
That jumped out at me, too! I'm sure we have talked about that money right here on FR.
Hopefully, somebody is verifying every word he said tonight.
I know you know I believe George Bush is a good man, but just this one time, I'd love for him to drop a LOAD of damaging information on this guy and shut him and her up once and for all.

I am really confused on how we could have claimed victory in the Gulf War given the deja vu trip we seem to be on. BECAUSE at the time the objective was to free Kuwait (which we did) .. not to kill Saddam
And I believe it was the LEFT that made a stinker about going into Bagdad in 91

Clinton (CNN), John Edwards (MSNBC) and Michael Jackson (2 hours ABC) all in one night.I'm trying to figure out which program is the most bizarre -- but CNN giving X42 airtime just about tops the list.

Do you think maritime knows what he is now?
LOL!!!!!

You guys did a great job at that book signing. Also, the freep at "Cheney's house " in 2000 is now part of political history.

You know, you are really amazing. In fact, I can see you sitting at your computer, smugly smiling and thinking you have the perfect zingers for those of us here.
Gulf War I ended in a truce with Saddam agreeing to terms imposed by the UN. We did not depose him because that was not in the UN mandate, which is what we were operating under. The UN didn't want to go into Baghdad.
I suppose we could have gone in alone, but we risked aggravating the then still existent Soviet Union, Saudi Arabia, and Syria. So we imposed disarmament through the UN.
Only SOMEONE (guess who) allowed the entire thing to become a charade. And when the inspectors were kicked out, nthing was done. That was in 1998, when SOMEONE was in office who wasn't George Bush.

nothing got me too riled up about the Clinton presidencyNot Kosovo?
Not the Kohbar Towers?
Not the U.S. S. Cole?
Not the embassys?
Not Somalia?
On the other hand, I am really confused on how we could have claimed victory in the Gulf War given the deja vu trip we seem to be on.
I can tell you exactly how we got here: during his term, Bill Cliinton didn't do ONE thing when he had PROOF that Saddam was building chemical weapons, WMD, etc.
What did he do? Why when he had to admit he lied under oath, he fired off some cruise missles at an ASPIRIN factory -- and yes, it was an aspirin factory......the United States goverment had to PAY that man for his business.
And when he was being impeached, he fired off a missle into the desert and hit a camel in the butt.
Then end.
Whoever you are, you are NOT a conservative OR a Republican.

I can honestly state that even including "Monicagate" nothing got me too riled up about the Clinton presidency. On the other hand, I am really confused on how we could have claimed victory in the Gulf War given the deja vu trip we seem to be on.Well, if you are STILL confused, 12 years later, there's not much we can do to help ya...

I am really confused on how we could have claimed victory in the Gulf War given the deja vu trip we seem to be on. The goal, liberating Kuwait, was accomplished in the Gulf War. Hence it was a victory. Some would say that our goal, as constrained by the U.N. and the coalition, was too narrow, and I would probably agree with that.
