A prayer for our troops overseas, and their families!

I have been thinking a lot about this very topic. Well put.

Interesting from this source. Seems the Washington Post and the Wall St. Journal are becoming America's newspapers.

Thank you so much for posting this. I wish more in the media would keep things in perspective. While I, too, mourn the loss of the shuttle crew it is nonetheless unsettling that our many soldiers don't even seem to merit a mention in the bottom-of-the-screen news tickers.

Beyond their units and their families, their deaths attracted little notice -- a paragraph or two in some newspapers, not even that in others. While I understand your point, I have to note that these soldiers died in an accident of the sort that happens a lot -- many times a year -- whereas Columbia's crew died very publicly, very spectacularly, and very unexpectedly.
The soldiers' deaths are a tragedy, certainly, but let's be clear that, unlike those of the astronauts, their deaths were not particularly newsworthy.
