I often wonder, Does the U.S. have the U.N. on a chain - or vise-versa?
Nothing has really changed since the U.N. set up HQ in N.Y.C. It's just a big game, with the future of the world at stake, and with the same types of evil motives at play as were so wickedly demonstrated by the likes of Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao.
Nothing's changed - just the shadows have grown deeper.

(This guy has a real head on his shoulders. Thanks for posting the column)

I think the UN is a perfect test case for Atlas Shrugged. That body has set its course and elevated tinhorn dictators to postions of power. Now let it follow its destiny to where it inevitably leads: ruin.

Of the world's nine worst dictatorships as identified by the respected rights-monitoring agency Freedom House, five - Libya, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria and Cuba - are all members of this commission that is ostensibly devoted to human rights. This is the body of reason the liberals would have us listen to?
What's wrong with this picture?

STATEMENT:"UN has been hijacked by the world's worst."
RESPONSE: Same with California's government. I'm sure other States are going the same way. Take a good look at the type of "people" in positions of authority.

That's pretty bad for the UN when even a Canadian newspaper is beginning to figure this one out.

In other news, the UN is delighted to announce committees to study and ensure protection of the following things, and the contries that will chair them:
Race relations ... Rwanda
Diveristy ... Japan
Religious freedom ... Saudi Arabia
Population control ... India
Property rights ... Zimbabwe
Crime control ... England
Children's health ... South Africa

That's pretty bad for the UN when even a Canadian newspaper is beginning to figure this one out. It's bad. But I'd like to see something from American papers. Any references out there?

That's pretty bad for the UN when even a Canadian newspaper is beginning to figure this one out. You have obviously never read the numerous articles, columns and editorials from Sun Media and the Toronto Sun that have been posted on Free Republic.
You will no doubt be surprised to learn that there are conservatives in Canada, some of them running and writing for newspapers.

I get enormously tired of the
media distinguishing two types of tyranny, deomcracy and despotism, as if they weren't equivalent. Since when is democracy, a collectivist system adverse to individual rights, so much better than a dictatorship? Is having your property violated by a despot any better than a mob operating at the whim of communications
media?
Gosh, I wonder why the media think democracy is so wonderful?

So what does it take to get the US out of the United Nations? Can the president do this unilaterally by simply removing our UN ambassador? Do we need an act of Congress? Does anybody know? Everybody talks about doing it but nobody ever talks about how we can do it.
