Sen. Pat Roberts has said that there's no "smoking gun," so all this talk is much ado about nothing. We're ultimately going to go in and hope to find a "smoking gun" afterward.

EXCLUSIVE: Bush administration to release tapes that could incriminate Iraq. Jan. 31 The Bush administration is preparing to release supersensitive electronic intercepts obtained by the National Security Agency that officials say prove that Iraq has repeatedly lied to United Nations inspectors, plotted among themselves about how to conceal weapons material and even appeared to boast afterward at their success in doing so, NEWSWEEK has learned.

Interesting.
Will this be the "smoking gun". No. For those skeptics asking for a "smoking gun" nothing, I repeat nothing, would be good enough.
This should help to show how irrelevant the inspections and the UN are however.

*The transcripts show that theres been a pattern of deception, said another official, who had been briefed on the evidence. But does that make the case that you have to go to war?*

Does this sound like a rerun of a book that you have been recommending.
What is the name of that book again?

Will they release the intel on the French inspectors collaboration and secret Swiss accounts? That will show real cajones...unless some of our guys were doing the same!

From the Glen Beck radio show today: Saddam has apparently told his AIR FORCE to stand down and not take to the air when the USA begins the LIBERATION of Irak. Instead, says Saddam, he will hold the Iraki air force (snicker....giggle) in reserve to make SUICIDE attacks and spread BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS on the US Forces...is this BOTH planes????

Careful. Newsweak may also be intentionally overhyping expectations so they can then claim that Powell's speech was dissappointing and that there was no "smoking gun". I still remember the media and the whole Impeachment saga.
