This Saudi columnist is not very well informed about America. No President has been "head of a Protestant denomination," and there is no reason to single out Kennedy--the US support for the "Jewish National Home" in Palestine dates back to Woodrow Wilson and Warren Harding, and it was during the Truman administration that the State of Israel was established (and recognized by the US government). Nothing dramatic happened in this area while Kennedy was President.

The U.S. has had at least one non-Christian President already (Thomas Jefferson), even if there haven't been any open adherents of recognized non-Christian religions.

Wrong on two points.....the American dream went through some rough spots when Clinton was president because we don't take kindly to presidents that lie to us!....the American dream is alive and ready to kick Saddam's a$$ thanks to President Bush so they shouldn't pretend what they even know about the American dream when so many of their own people don't dare to dream!!!

Do they honestly want us to believe that they would allow a Jew to be a part of their government? They suddenly have morals when it suits them and to have so much information on American people when they don't even pay American taxes is amazing. A country that recognizes only one religion as the "true religion" doesn't have a clue on what being an American is all about. People in our country are free to worship whenever and whoever they choose and not be afraid of being murdered for their choice. It's not the Americans who hate and murder Jews.....it's the muslims who do that!!

Our military troops come from so many different religions and back grounds.....when Americans pray for their safe return we pray for all of them. When Americans are their to welcome them home, we don't see religious differences....we see Americans! That's what this country is all about and that is something Muslims just don't get.
