Clinton was a worse human being, but as a President he was not the worst. When the Republicans came up with good ideas like welfare reform, he plagiarized them but nonetheless got them done. I'm not happy about having had such a dispicable person in the White House, but that doesn't make him the worst President.

It's highly unlikely that Carter could have done anything to prevent the downfall of the Shah. In fact, a pretty good case can be made that much of the anti-Americanism that arose during the shah's deposing can be traced back to Eisenhower's forcing Mossadeek [spelling?] when Ike was in office.

There's enough other stuff that you can nail Carter and his Georgia mafia on that you don't have to use Iran.

Yes he did! The media never mentions this, but he just gave it away after all that $ spent as well as lives lost.

He also did not allow our atheletes compete in the olympics after they had worked so hard to prepare.

It was stated in Time magazine that Clinton people told the Iranians that he would not support the Shah. This really set up the bloodbath where all the pro-Western leaders were slaughtered.

Clinton is like a lot of poor leaders. He is a major undercutter while appearing weak and incompetent. He really set into motion the Clinton presidency, including gutting the military, a Carter innovation.

But Carter was strong when it came to taking care of himself. He actually did whip Teddy's capacious ass, but that only set up the Reagan win. I really admire one thing about Carter - he got Reagan elected.

It's just that I have such an aversion to Der Schlickmeister that he automatically came to mind!

You mean federaly licensed farmer. It is illegal to grow peanuts without a permit. The number of which has been fixed since FDR. So, Carter's have been on the dole since then.

I disagree. Carter was a awfull president but he was at least a moral person. We are just starting to unravel Clinton's legacy that includes 2 attacks on the WTC, Nuclear reactors to NK, ICBM and submarine silencing technology to the PRC, A-bombs to India and Pakistan. On the economy side we're told his administration cooked the books to deceive the public while golfing with Kenneth Lay - just like Aurther Anderson did to Enron. IMHO Clinton was worse because he intentionally harmed the US in order to become a left wing pop idol. He just plain sucked.
