"...Immediately after his Victory at the Battle of IA DRANG-1965 then Lt. Col. HAL G. MOORE (Portrayed by MEL GIBSON in .."WE WERE SOLDIERS"..) had the very same negative appraisal of the Military Draft and not being able to hold on to some of his very best and most experienced SkyTroopers when going over to Vietnam, as now Secretary of Defense DONALD RUMSFELD. "

I remember his qoute was something like this "My first two tours were with professional soldiers and we kicked ass but the last tour was with a bunch of hippie freeks that weren't worth a sh*t"

The quote is not exact but it's close to what he said on fox aftre the preview at the Whitehouse.

...Actually, Lt. Gen. HAL G. MOORE (Ret) was only allowed -1- Vietnam Tour of Duty after his Victory at the Battle of IA DRANG-1965 and his subsequent promotion to the Colonel in Command of the 1st Cav's 3rd Brigade. He went on to Commannd the Korean Theater of Operatons and Military Operations at the Pentagon, even though he had kept asking to be re-assigned back to Vietnam. The thinking was that he had already done his part in the War.

...Lt. Gen. HAL G. MOORE retired just before the Gulf War as the Head of U.S. Army Personnel at the Pentagon. One of his replacements later on down the line was the only Flag Officer killed at the Pentagon on Sept. 11th, 2001, the same day a person under MOORE's command at the Battle of IA DRANG-1965, Tower 2's Head of Morgan Stanley Security RICK RESCORLA, was also killed after his having saved 1,000's of lives in New York City, as America's No.1 HILLARY-Fighter BARBARA K. OLSON (Freeper 'BKO') also perished while crashing into the Pentagon.

...See my October 1965 Photo of an Australian Army Hatted Senator TED KENNEDY and ALOHA RONNIE taken at 1st Cavalry Headquarters in the Central Highlands of Vietnam just prior to our Battle of IA DRANG-1965. TED KENNEDY was in his 1st Term as a U.S. Senator touring Vietnam to survey the Vietnamese Refugee problem caused by our newly enlarged Military Operations against invading Communists from the North.

I'm glad he clarified what he meant, because his original words left him open to just criticism.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I've been traveling the last few days. I meant no disrespect for draftees in a general sense and particularly those in WWII and Korea. But, I think that society had changed by the late 60's and that same sense of scarifice and committment could no longer be expected of the young male pool. I think it is even more so today. Picture for yourself a unit in todays Army comprised mainly of young males from our society/culture. This is very difficult for me to imagine as I consider them to be too soft both mentally and physically. In short they've been feminized to the point where they would be useless to the military.
