But the same people who promote "diversity" are aggressively against "standardized" testing because they are culturally biased.

So should I take it that testing should be culturally diverse? Perhaps a few questions posed in Urdu or Ebonics or about the Temple On The Mount or the mating habits of Eskimos?

Others on this thread have argued that focus on diversity actually serves to seperate "groups." Synonyms for diverge (the root of diversity): disagree, differ, discord, dissent, fall out, oppose, conflict, deviate, depart, clash, take issue, vary. (American Heritage Dictionary) Oops a dictionary might be defacto an anti-diversity tool I suppose.

Obviously there are many "theories" of and about "diversity," at this point I have seen only one specific benefit and that is menu choices. On the other hand - I make a pretty good Swedish Meatball (you know small and hard) and I've never been to Sweden nor met a Swede as far as I know.

Well that is a primary difference in usage of terminology.

Diversity within a single culture is a wonderful thing.

Diversity of several cultures to the exclusion of a single culture is what most liberals are pushing for.

So, yes, diversity is a good thing, but maintaining a single culture is paramount.
