he not already in exile as we speak, on a yacht somewhere with OBL.

I'd actually like to see him go into exile, not to avoid a war but because it would piss off the lefties so much. They've been chanting for months that Bush is trying to avoid a peaceful solution and is forcing war, if we actually got a peaceful solution that wasn't appeasement that would be tons of face egg.

The three diplomats said further terms for Hussein's departure would be the withdrawal of US troops from the Gulf, the end of United Nations arms inspections and sanctions against Iraq and measures against the production of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.At least they threw in some humor.

I hear the weather is nice in Somalia, the help is cheap. Better not turn your back on them though.

How 'bout a roll in the hay, too, while we're at it? They can't be serious... I think it was meant to be insulting.

He might as well have added "And Prez-ee-dent Boosh must learn to love Broccoli."

the Iraqi leader was prepared to accept a deal under which he would leave the country if it was guaranteed that he would not to be prosecuted or persecuted by the United States or any of its European allies. Ok, so the IDF can still go in and blow his head off, sounds good.

if certain conditions are met Won't be any conditions or negotiations.

I would like to read the fine print of any agreement to let him go into exile. He is suppose to have many doubles so you have have proof it was him. this smells like it is bogus to me.

The Arabs are the first to realize that Dubya is absolutely serious, and that Dubya has already burned the bridge.
Dubya sent the full force needed, and then some. To back down now would go down in history as the most wussed out action in the history of America. It can't and won't happen. I can hear Dubya saying to Rummy, "Burn the damn bridge." I love my President!!!
So there are two choices: The easy way, or the hard way. Either way, Saddam is gone.
The Arabs realized this, while the UN ponders its navel.
Personally, I think the hard way is a lot cleaner, and will lead to the overthrow of Iran from the stinky Mulahs, by people who read the internet, and listen to rock and roll.
Saudi is scared, of course, because they bribe their Mullahs and have a country named after them--a family. They allow the Mullahs to preach fundamentalist Islam BS, which the country bought, to preserve their position of incredible wealth. They would hate to have any revolution happen in the ME, cuz (unlike Iran) the Mullahs in Saudi rule the roost.
Let's do it the hard way, and get it over with.
The easy way is for Saddam to go into exile. That never works; they always come back. And then the administration that let it happen gets trashed.

They should NOT allow him to escape anywhere.
Bush had better have the video available to the media clearly showing his helicopter or private jet being blown out of the sky.
Then Bush's voice can come over the screen and say, "We will hunt you down anywhere. You can't hide. We will kill you. Who's next?"
I mean, even *THAT* would garner "Great Leader" Kim's attention, in North Korea.

Seems like it would be pretty easy to get a hitman into an African country that is not traceable to the US, so I say why not?
I really want us to get his cash though and he won't let go of that so easy.

The diplomats in Dubai - one Western and two Arab - who did not want to be named or reveal their sources, said the Iraqi leader was prepared to accept a deal under which he would leave the country if it was guaranteed that he would not to be prosecuted or persecuted by the United States or any of its European allies. The last time I checked, Israel (the Mossad) was not located in Europe.
