Had it occurred during the Clinton years we'd be all over it like wrinkles on a cotton dress shirt.Had it occured during the Clinton years, it would have been wrinkles (and probably some sort of biological substance as well) on a cotton dress shirt. But Bush is not Clinton, and never the twain shall meet.
I'm not a Bush-bot, but those sorts of comparisions are the sort from the DU bunch. They're already over there accusing us of planting the warheads in the mound; I expect better of a poster on FR.

Did you hear Cavuto say, "What you're saying, Scott, sounds like what Iraq is saying." And Ritter said, "I don't care what it sounds like." (!!!)No tube at the office--did Cavuto REALLY say that? Oh, how funny...but with Ritter & the Iraqis, well, he's doing a good imitation of Little Sir Echo, isn't he?

Re 504: I can't get it to work either!
To: Catspaw
Cavuto said exactly those words. (SR's words could also have been "I don't care what anyone thinks" though the first 3 words "I don't care" are exact...)

Typical bellicosity from Ritter. He's had some good media training, that's for sure. He did mention that he had been a Marine for 12 years, didn't he? That's usually his deflection when someone accuses him of being a traitor. Oh, and he also throws in that he's a firefighter for some volunteer company in New York.
Anyway, besides taking $400K from an Iraqi with sympathies towards Saddam, he's also got ties to the "Institute for Public Accuracy." If you poke around on their website, they definitely have a far-left slant.
This is the link for a press release about one of Scott's trips to Iraq--not the one where he spoke before the Iraqi Congress. I don't know who paid for THAT trip. http://www.accuracy.org/press_releases/PR072902.htm

I was out, and caught just abit of it on the news... did I hear right? Iraq is claiming it "forgot" about these illegal war heads?
If so, I agree with your opinion on the anti-war protesters. "Gee it was an honest mistake, anyone could make a mistake, Saddam is not threat ...they just made an honest mistake darn it." Makes you wonder what else "Iraq forgot about" ...or will forget about until found by the inspectors.
To: Excuse_My_Bellicosity
I suspect Scott is facing both extortion and is getting bribed. You're probably right. It's no doubt not an either-or situation. There's pressure on him, and he's getting a kickback too, I'd wager.
There's also talk that his wife is either Chechan or from some other province of Russia. There are probably a few ways to get to Scotty.

Well, I missed the very beginning of the Cavuto interview, but I wouldn't doubt that SR reminded the world that he was a Marine. I've yet to hear him not get that in somewhere, when I've heard the whole piece, just missed the beginning here. I'm going to catch the repeat of Cavuto late tonight, I'd like to hear the rest of this. Course, Scotty will be on other networks, but he won't be getting any hard questions from Blitzed Wolf or whoever.
Interesting link, I'll check that out. Yes, don't you wonder who funds some of this stuff?
To: texasbluebell
Being a Marine won't help if you're now a traitor. He can talk about his 12 yrs. of service all the live long day for all I care--it only makes his words and actions now seem worse.

I don't know if I'd call it blackmail - sounds more like he's on Saddam's payroll. Certainly a possibility. I would love to know someday what's behind this guy. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will be revealed.

Yes, don't you wonder who funds some of this stuff? Not a clue. I did find these names on any number of the press releases:

On the other hand, it looks like (and I love my president, don't get me wrong) this might have been leaked info in order to deflect the Michigan race preference story that would have dominated tonight's big 3 newscasts. So you think Bush is gonna fake the UN inspectors into finding a set of chemical shells, setting off an international firestorm and vastly increasing the likelihood of a serious shooting war, to get peoples' minds off a story that makes him look reasonable and right?
You can't possibly be serious.

I did forget to add that while poking around that the IPA website, there's no place to make donations. There's also no background on any of the board members, the people who run the place, etc. It feels like a front for someone or a bunch of someones, but there's no clue as to who's behind the org, not even a listing of the board of directors, if they have one, if they're a registered lobbyist for a country, nada, zip, zilch.

You just had the wrong link for the graphic. Here it is (at least I suppose it's the one you were looking for):

They were probably being briefed by Bill Richardson on his talks with the North Koreans -- They invited him (and he accepted) to Washington specifically for this. (But that may have happened yesterday).

Please, take a breath, and explain it to this person. If I'm way behind on this, the universities I went to have some splainin' to do... It's really quite simple: If you think you're going to war with Iraq, you don't reveal to Iraq a) what you know about their stuff, and b) how you learned about it. And to prevent Iraq from knowing, you don't tell anybody who doesn't need to know it.
As for Daschle, he's lying, and Rumsfeld has called him on it. As for the Senate leadership, they've seen it too.
Bottom line: we're not at the point yet where releasing that info has no effect. For a lot of the info, we may never reach that point.
