Terrorist Squads Set Up Across Europe to Carry Random Killings Using Exotic Poisons

Security services fear a network of terrorist assassination squads has been set up across Europe to carry out random killings using exotic poisons. The method is designed to maximise panic and fear.

European intelligence sources have told The Independent on Sunday they are "extremely concerned" that a number of North African terror cells linked to al-Qa'ida are active in London and other European cities and plotting attacks.

It is unclear if they would attempt a high-profile "spectacular" target such as Tony Blair, or randomly kill members of the public in busy areas to create "mayhem".

But security experts believe an attack on Britain at the earliest opportunity is seen as necessary to give al-Qa'ida a psychological boost.

The revelations follow the arrest last week of six North African men and a woman after a makeshift laboratory producing the poison ricin was discovered in a north London flat by Anti-Terrorist Branch officers. The seven are believed to be Algerian.

Four North Africans, all men, were charged yesterday with terrorism offences relating to the production of chemical weapons.

"The evidence suggests an assassination plot in London," said a well-placed security source about the arrests. "It is hard to see what else you would make and use ricin for."

Two other Algerian men who may also have ricin continue to be sought by police.

You just said that ILLEGAL ALIENS ARE DEPORTED???? Do you read news ever? You haven't read that there are an estimated 8 to 11 MILLION illegal aliens in this country, many of whom (I don't remember the figure) have been ordered to leave the country but didn't?

BTW, my husband is a naturalized citizen (Originally from Poland, escaped during communism) and we couldn't bring his old mother over here legally, without paying money that we didn't have. It's the Illegals who are the problem.

One partial solution - CUT THE WELFARE and that includes the free health care, school, and other benefits. Then people would only come to work.

I agree, except that if you could get a couple of well-publicized cases the fact that there's no antidote and death is slow would multiply the terror factor a great deal. You'd need a vector - probably subcutaneous introduction as the Bulgarians used, but not that exotic, maybe a hypodermic - and a randomness of attack in a close space - the underground? - and it could work.

Or, easier, you could just get a couple of stooges caught making the stuff and let the press scare the hell out of everybody. Which, come to think of it, is pretty much what happened.

You clearly don't understand what securing our borders means. It means stopping the uncontrolled flow of illegals into the country. The legal traffic can continue just as it does now, with no additional delays, but the mass flow of illegals who bypass the border checkpoints must stop.

Increased surveillance and apprehension necessitates more funding and more government intrusion. There is nothing to argue about here.
Border patrols, INS green card raids on businesses, and border checks on the highways are already occurring.
I can only assume you want even more plus a huge barrier erected.

How is this for your anti-immigration fantasy.
Lets say Pat Buchanan wins the presidency.
American engineers consult John Carpenters “Escape from New York” and begin construction of a Berlin style wall around our borders. After all it prevented illegals from entering Berlin.

Heavily armed checkpoints are set up for vacationers and cargo to pass through on major highways. Random checks are set up to stop the flow of illegal immigrants. Lets say every 5th car is searched. I'd say full body cavity searches since a small amount of anthrax and ricin goes a long way towards scaring the hell out of everybody. In addition routine armed patrols are set up to apprehend foreigners…and just for kicks lets have the government routinely check ALL border states for green cards of ALL employees.

Do you really think that is gonna be cheap?
If the goal is stopping terrorism, I don't think this the best use of our resources.
I'g guess that terrorist comprise 0.000001% of the illegal aliens...the rest just want jobs. So you better get every damn one of them, cause that one that slips past could kill 3,000 people.

Let me ask you…we already have border patrols…when the impoverished family sneaks across the border…and the Texas Ranger yells “Parada!” and the family splits up instead of stopping…do you shoot the father carrying his baby girl, or blow off the head of the mother?


And when we start shooting illegals on site...what do you thing Mexico and Canada is gonna do in retaliation?
Make it more difficult for Americans to go fishing there for sure.

Wait! I'm not going to ignore this. The biggest complaint I have with multiculturalism is black gangster rap ebonics. It's not coming from Africa. It's coming from AMERICANS in AMERICA's inner cities and from liberal AMERICAN university professors who teach it. The gang-bangers in our inner cities are not fresh off the boat. They were born here. Our problems are not being imported.

I'm very sad to say it but, most people sucking at the teat of government are AMERICANS who get SS, unemployment, welfare, Medicare/Medicaid, grants, government home and business loans at ridiculous rates (and if you live in Arkansas you don't even have to pay them back) etcetera etcetera ad nuseum. I don’t want to argue the relative advantages or disadvantages of these programs. I’m just making a point.

Those impoverished Mexicans do the jobs fat lazy slob Americans refuse to do like clean cars and toilets, all while smiling and happy for the chance to live in a country where their wife won't be raped and killed by a crooked cop. But if we must spend billions of dollars to hunt illegals down and deport them, maybe we could jail the AMERICAN’s who illegally give them jobs and rent apartments to them. Let’s start building more prisons and add that to the cost.

I’ve heard we have some 8 million illegals in the US. The number alone shows there is no link between illegal immigration and terrorism. 8 million illegals and a handful of terrorist. If 100 are terrorists I think it makes more sense to try to isolate those 100 rather than be diverted with the problem of what to do with 8 million people and another 1 million on the way. Some people think that Immigration is our biggest problem. I say its terrorism and taxes. Dubya says its terrorism and taxes. Illegal immigration is a boogeyman because 13 of the 19 terrorists entered the United States legally on visas. They didn't sneak across the border.

Some people say this proves the need for tougher immigration laws.

My Sister-in-Law is Belgian. She is a division president for a multi-million dollar company in Europe. Her company sent her to America to start an American branch of sales and distribution. It took her over 6 months to get a visa even though her husband and 2 children were born in the USA. She was here illegally for sometime with an expired visitation visa. (I hope no one will blame me for not turning her in.) How long should foreign dollars be refused by our immigration laws? The current rules for immigration are damaging to our economy. There are millions of hard working taxpayers waiting for a chance to get into the US and pay for my SS. I’d rather deport the lazy AMERICANS

Bush should ease the immigration laws and do what he can to humanely reduce government services for illegals. Closing the boarders with shotguns and barbed wire is stupid and costly. The fact is, if foreigners thought they had a chance to enter legally they might not face the rattlesnakes, police officers, and the thought they might get caught and have to return to their former hell at anytime.
