Well that big bongo player now knows that not only am I a war monger, as they like to call us, but I am also armed.

What a great job y'all did today. Thanks for the illustrative report, fivetoes.

Thanks for posting my pictures fivetoes!

It was an action packed FReep from our post on the S.W. corner today. Somehow one hour is just not enough FReeping so we showed up an hour early and took back the "Good Times" corner. At about 11:15 or so I saw Terry from the VFW driving past (on his way to get all the signs for the rally), he had a HUGE smile on his face when he saw us on the corner. He later told me he was afraid the leftists had gotten there early.

The leftists are starting to get a lot more vocal and wacky. When I was taking their pictures, the guy in the Dr. Suess hat was jumping up and down yelling "take my picture, take my picture", I pretended to snap his picture just to watch him jump around, LOL! When I hollered on the bullhorn "Thank You to all the fine Veterans and Patriots on the North East Corner!!", one looney peace-nik was yelling "We are patriots too!" as if I had insulted him. He had a sign on letter sized paper with one inch letters that said " UN is the Answer", It took 12 power binoculars to read his sign so I don't think he got his message out there very well. I hollered over to him that I use the UN flag to wipe my boots.

A local Anarchist stopped by on our corner today and handed me a piece of paper. A local group is offering a $2,000 reward to "Any Texas Air National Guard Airman with proof of 1st Lt. George Bush in person performing any scheduled non-flying duties at Ellington Air Force Base between May 1972 to July 30 1973". Go figure.

Saddam's Bongo Corps were in full swing in Fort Collins, they now all painted peace signs on their bongos (track of the American Chicken?). One peace-nik lady came by on her way back from the other corner and tried to start an argument with me. She said we should leave Saddam alone since he hasn't attacked us and that we should be more concerned with the plight of the Palestinians. I informed her that Saddam has been paying each of the families of suicide bombers $25,000. She said that was a lie, and I informed her we were going to kick Saddam's ass. The light changed and she marched off saying a bunch of garbage but we couldn't hear her due to all the honking for our side.

It was 26 degrees when we started and those peace-niks sure looked cold over there. A foot of snow would be wonderful but this drought keeps hanging on. I would love to see them suffer in the snow. It doesn't seem as cold when the public is giving you support.

Thanks for the heads up on the Loveland situation fivetoes, I guess the bicycle horns have to be put away down there since that could incite some patriotic honking and we don't want any trouble. If I were that realtor I would be bringing you guys hot coffee or at least put a flag out front. Maybe they need a headset for their phone, you know I could sell them one, LOL!

To all you members of the Armed Forces who read this, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY!!

All the Best.

I must look like a ring leader, why is she walking right toward me

Well, you do have that image of authority and respect look to ya. Maybe it's the bullhorn?

Here's a better thought, though....Maybe she's a FReeper!!! WOO-HOO!!!

Louisville FReep operations continue tonight. Peacnik candle light vigil and march to US Senator Mitch McConnell's house. After Action Report to follow. Great FReeps in CO! I would've paid good $$$ to see the look on their faces when they showed up. FReep on and tell those VFW guys I'm proud of them. See if anyone of them served with the 3rd Infantry Division and have them e-mail me. I'll FReepmail the address to you. Thanks.

The peaceniks stating that all the honks were for them was why our sign reads "thumbs up for America." They kept telling the media that they were getting hundreds of honks proving their tremendous support. Now with the thums up, there are many fewer honks. With Prov's new sign reading "Honk if you believe Saddam" I expect it to get a lot quieter. We found that given the alternative to show a "quiet" response, conservative folks are more likely to respond and some quite enthusiatically.

It's funny that someone called into the "Trib Talk" (our newspaper) telephone line where they will print (non-libelous) comments. They complained about the peacenik drummer girl, who really plays horribly, banging on that drum for an hour every Saturday. It really is obnoxious, but I can turn it off. Others aren't so lucky. I can't understand why they are beating the drums of war anyway. Logic doesn't seem to affect them.

This was one of my more memorable Freep days. The highlight for me came in Loveland when a nice young lady pulled over in the next parking lot and walked back to introduce herself as a Marine at Camp Pendleton and thanked us for our support of the troops! YEAH!! When we know that the message is getting through here and there (in spite of the local media ignoring us), it really makes it worth it.

My one regret is that I didn't get a picture of my 11-year-old struggling to simultaneously hold up fivetoes' "Blessed are the Peacemakers : The U.S. Army, ......" sign on a tall stick, plus support trteamer's big orange "Give Our Troops a HONK" sign leaning against her, plus frequently honk fivetoes' high-pitched "A-hoo-ga" horn, plus wave to cars ----- all at the same time. Her juggling act was also made more difficult by a gusty wind, and was fairly entertaining to watch! (We always have more signs than we can use at one time, and we rotate them. Also they're handy to have for occasions when new passerby volunteers help out).

The Loveland policewoman was very nice. One thing she mentioned is that one of their own happens to be in the Reserve and is over in the Mideast right now. But it's too bad that we can't use the ahooga horn any more, nor any of the signs with the word "Honk" in them, nor fivetoes' bullhorn! Dang! Well at least it's some consolation that the other side has to stop their monotonous bongoing now, and has to put away their own Honky signs (say ... if we modify the sign to say "Give Our Troops A Honky," will it be legal?) So we traded Bongos For Bullhorns! Fair trade?? I'm not convinced. Well, at least the Honk signs and bullhorn are still legal in Fort Fungus.

Another thing that struck me, was how close the SW corner in Ft Collins is to the Clueless Ones. This is the first time I've hung out there for more than a couple seconds. The NE corner is 7 lanes plus a median away from them, but the SW corner is 5 lanes and no median. You can actually see the whites of their eyes, and read twice as many of their obnoxious signs (I also just realized that motorists waiting at the lights can't read most of their signs).

But standing so close to them adds a new dimension to it. For one thing, you can actually hear each other on occasion. Also, you can make out the facial expressions now. I noticed that they have a lot of seniors over there (we never have more than 1 or 2). I'll bet their seniors are of that certain variety that is easily paniced every other November when the Rats call from their phone banks and scream, "Get down to the polls RIGHT NOW and vote for every Democrat on the ballot, or else the Republicans will eliminate Social Security and take away your medicines and doctors and throw you out on the street!!!" Man, I'm so glad there aren't any seniors among my family or inlaws who are susceptible to that kind of crap.

Well, it's getting late; gotta go. But it sure is great reading all of you other people's Freep posts here every week, as well as the ones from Fresno, Missouri and now Louisville! (BTW what happened to Boston, anyway?) I'll be out of town next week, but am really looking forward to helping out with a new Longmont Freep soon.
