A death sentence seems a bit harsh for rape, but... that's just a matter of degree. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, so long as the accused could be fully proven guilty (people should not die if the only evidence against them is someone's word). The whole stoning them in public thing is also a bit barbaric, but that's also just a matter of degree. It's nice to see extremist Muslims trying to kill the RIGHT people for once.

A minor caveat!

IIRC, it takes four male witnesses to prove rape for purposes of the death penalty under Islamic law.
