That's my point.
Liability lies higher up.

"But just as bad as these cops are the sickos here who use these rare acts of a small few to disgrace an entire group. Most of which is the only thing standing between criminals and the rest of us. " This article is indicative of a larger and growing problem - trigger-happy police officers who are punks with a badge and a gun.
And the most important thing between me and the criminals is my 357.

I suppose you have something more than anecdotal evidence showing this is true?

Yep, to the bureacrats for hiring these sociopathic LEOs, giving them a gun and a badge, then sending them out to wreak as much havoc as they can get away with on the law-abiding community that pays their wages, who despise the fact that you can earn a decent living being normal...
Trust me, the whole system is suspect here.

You're right we should just get rid of all police and let you and the rest of the libertarians protect us all

Yes Spetz, I am quite embarassed by the Barney Fife aspect of this 2 week old story and I hope the family "gets paid".....an unusual response from someone like me who generally loathes tort exploitation.
I liked your lions and tigers post on the UK "big kitty" thread btw.
Regards...I'm off for my last afternoon pursuing the wily male(4X4s or better only) SE US whitetail deer with my muzzleloader for this season.

What about reducing the size of government and treating law-abiding Americans with respect and dignity...oh, I'm sorry, that would be the libertarian to do, right?

As I watched the video over and over, i get the impression that that cop is a fraidy cat, scared of his own shadow. the dog was clearly smiling (other dog owners know what i mean) and was over joyed to be out of the car. tail wagging, tail up, bouncing around. Friendly pet. this cop is a loose cannon, and in my opinion, as real piece of shit.
The Capt.
To: republicman
I am all for that. I can protect myself and my family just fine, thank you.
The Capt.
To: TaZ
Brave me coming to protect you.

The suspected carjacker gang. They look dangerous to me.Boy you sure killed that strawman off good didn't you
See post #60 it starts like this
"This is horrible, I'd like to see the cop who did this fired, or worse."
To: Capt.YankeeMike
I am all for that. I can protect myself and my family just fine, thank you. The Capt. The good police (most of them) arrest criminals and put them behind bars so people's families are able to be protected. If there was no police you wouldn't be able to protect squat, you would be overrun.
Sadly the difference between most libertarians and anarchists always seems to diasappear under even minimal scrutiny.
To: TaZ
What about reducing the size of government and treating law-abiding Americans with respect and dignity...oh, I'm sorry, that would be the libertarian to do, right? No, it would be a libertarian thing to do to call all police corrupt for the actions of a few. That's why libertarians (anarchists) are largely cophating whackos.
Cops who do wrong deserve to be punished, but those who do right should be commended.
For I am quite sure all these who say we should do away with cops that can supposedly protect themselves and their families in a nation where laws could not be enforced. Probably would shit their pants walking through the inner city in the broadest of daylight if someone said boo to them, to say nothing of having to go into a darkened building at 2:00 am in the worst of all neighborhoods for a blue collar salary.
When my mother was robbed, cops (not libertarians) found the guys that did it. When my neigthbor's apartment was burglarized the cops (not libertarians) found the guy who did it.
