Bill Clinton, like Billy Sunday, Jimmy Swaggert, Jim Bakker and one or two dozen other good old boys had to experience the bad in order to do the most good.
OK, that much is BS, but how many bought it? It appears that enough did to keep all of them going for quite some time.
Brother Dave Gardner, the popular Southern comic and recording whiz, in one of his most memorable albums observed, "Some say to me, Brother Dave, why don't you become a preacher and make a million dollars? PAUSE. Dear hearts, what would a preacher spend it on?"
Ask that question of a charlatan ex-preacher or ex-president. If an air conditioned dog house was good enough for Tammy Faye, why not a mansion and a Senate Seat for Hillary?

A Threatening Phone Call from Clinton During grand jury questioning of Blumenthal, a prosecutor explored a call Clinton made to Lewinsky informing her of the death of Betty Currie's brother.
The grand jury exchange follows:
Q. You did testify that the President told [you] that he called Monica Lewinsky on at least one occasion when Betty Currie's brother died? A. Right
Q. And did he state whether or not that was before or after Monica Lewinksy threatened to expose an affair with the President?
A. I have no idea.
Q. OK. Did it seem unusual to you that the President was essentially making a call on behalf of his secretary?
A. No, not at all. Not at all. The president often calls people and they're surprised. ...

John Goodman: the man who went from being Roseanne's doormat sitcom husband to his own short-lived sitcom as a homosexual. Haven't heard about him since.

Not only that, he probably passed his herpes on to them. Ewww, what's that thing on his lip? Better put some ice on that.

Thanks very much for reminding us how trashy, and distorted
TIME magazine is. It's as crooked as bill and hillary clinton are.

Bump for a brave lady!

Well, somewhere in the mix Aykroyd used him as the replacement "fat guy" in Blues Brothers 2000. Other than that, yeah.

.." the truth is one thing that must not be moved off the books"... How Time board arrived at it's decision.
Thanks Jim Robinson, Great posts!! Wishing you and all the FR family a Healthy, Happy & Prosperous New Year.

The moral part of Clinton pales in comparison to the potential for blackmail from every corner of the world, which that awful president, her husband, and many others, were willing to accept in order to retain their power.
Linda Tripp makes these other whistle blowers look like schoolyard tattletales in comparison.
A happy new year to all!

Juanita Broderick was a gutsy whistleblower as well.True. As was Gennifer Flowers who had a tape and the media ignored both of them.
How many TIME covers would be required to name all the women who have been used and abused by the "victim of the VRWC"?

I think you are confusing Tripp with Kathleen Willey. Kathleen had her cat killed, her tires slashed, and her children threatened by a jogger about a week before she was to testify in the Jones v. Clinton case.

I wouldn't have bet anyone on FR would know who Brother Dave Gardner was. He was a pioneer. I recall one punchline, "Baby was alright till we turned her head around."
