This has been posted on FR already, but the thread is locked-read only as are all pre-September 4, 2001 articles. I felt that, in light of the Liberal 'RATS and the Liberal media hounding Trent Lott from the Senate Majority Leader position in the Senate, that this was a pertinent article worthy of a re-post for FReeper discussion.

Thanks for posting it again. I must have missed this one. As usual, Horowitz nails it.

I think it's time for us to take the offense in this area. When referring to our opposition to any kind of racial preferences, we need to start by saying, "as Martin Luther King said," and then quote the not-color-of-skin-but-content-of-character phrase. Then we can go on to explain our positions. When the other side complains in outrage over our use of Martin Luther King, we should say, "But he said exactly what we are saying. Don't you agree with Dr. King or believe in his vision for the world?" When they say that racial preferences are needed for whatever reason, we should say, "So you don't believe that blacks and hispanics are smart enough to compete on their own? We completely reject that mischaracterization of a large class of Americans. Those are the same beliefs that Dr. King and so many others (including the large majority of Republicans at the time and today) strenuously rejected."

Funny you should mention Martin Luther King. I have been using the following quote of his and applying it to Sen. Murry, Hanoi Jane, and Sean Penn on recent threads.

"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than a sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Both Horowitz' article and your post should be read by every Freeper. In fact, we should all memorize your post. We must go on offense. The days of "But I'm not a racist." "You are so, " are over!

Meek & Horowitz are correct.

The democrats are going to be be playing the race card to it's full measure from now until November 2004. The will play it everytime it's dealt {ala' Trent Lott}, and will pull it from the bottom of the deack when it isn't dealt to them fairly.

We need to play it first & better. The only way to beat the race card, is to trump it with something better.

I would dearly love to see President Bush address it directly on occasion - exposing the false declarations/statements by the 'RATS labeling Republicans as 'racists' for what they are - false! Bush uses the bully pulpit quite well when he uses it. I would almost bet, however, that he won't do this. I hope I'm wrong, of course.

Thanks for your kind comments, my FRiend. And Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Merry Christmas from

"There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well."

This article is as sound, as the new piece by Horowitz, posted the other day, was not. Let us hope that he returns to the common sense in this article.

Republicans – and others – better learn how to combat this latter-day witch-hunting hysteria or surrender the fight in advance to any political opponent who is willing to employ a race-baiting attack.

If Attorney General Ashcroft and the Bush Administration follow the pattern of appeasement and proceed down the politically correct path to the world the Democrats are demanding...

This will not go away with symbolic gestures like visiting churches or genuflections to left-wing causes like ending "racial profiling." It will only go away when the demagogues are exposed -- when those under attack are willing to call racial McCarthyism by its proper name and fight back on the issues themselves.

Hey Trent, here is a great lesson for you and the Republican party. As a leader of the party you are expected to articulate our stance on racism and you were not able to do that. Instead, you co-opted the Dems views on racial quotas, etc on your visit to BET.

Once you can articulate the Repub. stance on racism then you have a chance to claim that as a principled issue. Then you will be in a position to call racial Mccarthyism by its proper name and fight back and win.

A re-post from another thread just a little bit ago......

Democrats had a lot to capitalize on. They tried to exploit the Lott case to tar all Republicans as racists. What Lott had said publicly, Sen. Hillary Clinton declared, other Republicans mutter privately. Who was she talking about? Which Republicans? She didn't say.

Maybe she was confused, and actually meant THIS racial/ethnic slur instead???.....

BOOK CHARGES: HILLARY CALLED AIDE JEW BA**ARD
DRUDGE REPORT
FRIDAY JULY 14, 2000 12:00:00 ET

**World Exclusive**
**Contains Graphic Description**

Hillary Clinton has angered Jewish voters in New York and nationally with her controversial support of a Palestinian State, and her startling embrace of Yasser Arafat s wife.

Questions remain, and the debate intensifies, as to whether she can win the crucial Jewish vote in New York as she wages a neck-and-neck battle with Congressman Rick Lazio, who has made the Jewish question a campaign issue.

Now, as the race comes down to the wire, a new book is set to explore the first lady s feelings about Jews and anti-Semitic sentiments held by certain Rodham family members.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0060193921/drudgereport>Biographer Jerry Oppenheimer s new book STATE OF A UNION: INSIDE THE COMPLEX MARRIAGE OF BILL AND HILLARY CLINTON will not be released by HARPERCOLLINS until Tuesday, but the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal:

In one particularly shocking passage in the book, Oppenheimer quotes a campaign official who describes an angry attack by Hillary in which she screams at him, "You fu**ing Jew ba**ard!"

My apologies for the language, even though I did ** it out. I had to show the blatant hypocrisy.

PALADIN WROTE: "Great strategy!...Use the words of Dr King!"

I've been SHOUTING that for a long time!

We also need to start QUOTING GOD! We need to start REAPEATING OVER and OVER that OUR GOD tells us to: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and "Love your neighbors as yourself."

Of course God also says: "Whoever sheds the blood of man, BY MAN shall HIS blood be shed..." [Gen. 9:6] (i.e. GOD CONDONES THE DEATH PENALTY for murderers!!!)
