Hate crime hoax at Ole Miss (Michelle Malkin)

Black students organized a "Say No to Racism" march and demanded more protection against white-on-black harassment. They blasted the school's president for not apologizing quickly enough for the racial slurs. The school's "Minority Affairs" director demanded that the university establish "programs and procedures" to ensure racial sensitivity and prevent hate crimes. The "Institute for Racial Reconciliation" and the "Committee On Sensitivity and Respect" convened meetings. Activists called for criminally prosecuting the perpetrators under state felony laws or federal hate crime statutes.

This is what I would like to see happen next:

This fake racial incident stuff seems to happen a lot of college campuses. I guess Tawana Brawley and Al Sharpton got the ball rolling on this one. I think it's a self hating Black thing going on. Similar to the phenomenon of the self hating Jew

I am sure that you are right and some of it is present. I believe, however, that for the most part it is (i) a safe prank ("you ain't gonna be mad at me 'cause I am offending my own people"), and (ii) a provocation, whereby you can easily create more problems for whites whom you dislike. As this incident shows, if you acted on such assumptions, you'd be fine.

There were stories last fall about a Muslim college student perpetrating false 'hate crimes' against himself and blaming whites. Maybe illegal aliens will pick up on this psychological terror campaign too. Whites can be 'guilted' into anything ...

I am saddened, but not surprized. This sort of thing has happened before.

At the Univ. of MD, Baltimore County, anti homosexual slogans were found scrawled in chalk on the sidewalks. This happened several years in a row. What made cynics (like me) suspicious was that this always occured just before events such as "Gay-Pride Day," or "Gay Awareness Week," or some such. Moreover, our campus homosexual activist organization typically covered the sidewalks with slogans and symbols drawn in colored chalk during these events ... and the handwriting of both the Gay-pride chalkings and the anti-homosexual ones were curiously similar. Sure enough, one time, the campus police interrupted 2 or three persons writing anti-gay slogans ... and it was the activists from the campus homosexual group.
Nothing was done; indeed, almost nothing was said. And when, next year, the same crude "gay-bashing slogans" again appeared chalked on the sidewalks just before "AIDS Awareness Week" (or some such), nobody mentioned the incident from the year before. (Except me; I aways was a loud-mouth rable rousing so-and-so)

Your analysis is better than mine. It's a safe "prank" at minimum. At maximum (and you're not found out) you have furthered the cause of getting Whitey and proving all whites are racist. Same way the RATS and Jesse and his crew have their own little passion play going on that proves all Republicans are really racist.

No, it was a real hate crime, against whites. These incidents, whether real or fake, are serious. Fake hate crimes need to be prosecuted and punished equal to the severity of the alleged crime.

Ole Miss Chancelor Bob Kyatt(sp?) will not permit the kinds of crap that once was the order of the day nor will he put up any new order that will pit races against on another. Of course ther will be those forces that aren't happy with the fact that the chancelor happens to be white.

"Students of color" are herded into separate dorms, separate departments, and separate graduation ceremonies.

No, the so-called "students of color" segregate themselves, in some sick attempt to prove that they are independent from whitey. There, in their racist enclaves, they nurture their permanent racial grievances against Whitey.

Really, I think the self-segregation is an admission that they believe that they cannot compete. They believe that they can't compete with Whitey, so why try? Let's all just segregate ourselves in our own little racial ghetto, and talk about how "oppressed" we are. A sad Affirmative Action legacy.
