I know that the reactions from young people can be somewhat disconcerting regarding Christmas. A lot of us have been "engineered" to view Christmas as a neutral day. I'd like to tell everyone to take heart though, because not all of the younger generation has forgot how important Christmas is. I am 25, and I have two young children that I plan to raise to understand how great and special of a time Christmas is. There are a lot of twenty somethings like me doing the same thing. The younger generation is not totally lost!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I agree with this. I teach in a mothers-day-out program. Last week I asked the kids in each class to tell me something about Christmas. Several of these 3-to-5-year-olds said it was about God or Jesus. All hope isn't gone yet.

(And one girl - 4 years old - even mentioned writing thank-you notes. Some early training is going on there, too. She's already doing better than I ever did!)
