Whether people agree w/Mary's choice in men or not (and it is beyond ME how she could be married to Cueball), she HAS been one of the most vocal voices for the GOP...and an acceptable spokeman on shows like Meet The Press. Mary was the precursor to the Laura Ingram types...and has consistently been able to call the Dem-spinners on their B.S. when ever she debated them. She had her own radio show on CBS and co-hosted CNBC's Equal Time. In 1999 she became co-host of CNN's Crossfire.
This character assassination based on her choice of a husband is way overboard, imo. Even Rush Limbaugh attended her wedding. I can question her choice in men, but NOT her devotion to, and support of the Republican party.
And you're right, this IS old news....and has been in the 'works' for some time. Those calling this a 'house-cleaning' are playing create-a-crisis, imo.

The reason I mentioned cleaning house was because I saw a thread reporting rumors that Christie Todd-Witman might step down ..
