President Bush has to stand up for his own views and the views of the Republican Party or this will be out in front on every election.

He did that today and Lott just has to take it. Lott was the one making the statement and the President is going to have to set it straight for him. Lott made the mistake - don't make Bush and the GOP pay for it.

Wolf Blitzer said word has come down from the White House that Trent Lott should not resign as Senate Majority Leader and that his apologies are good enough.
