Harry Browne's occasionally mind-boggling adherence to pure ideology in a world too pragmatic for him, as well as his grip on the Libertarian Party leadership is what's caused me to not renew my Libertarian Party membership. When he's gone maybe I will, but not until.

On pure theory, I agree with a lot of what Harry Browne says. If I weren't a realist, I'd agree with nearly all of it. But in regards to our stationing of troops in military bases overseas, I always have and always will think he's correct.

If Saudi Arabia or Russia wanted to put a military base on U.S. soil, the mere suggestion would likely cause whispers of war.

I was cosidering becoming a registered Libertarian until 9-11. Browne's remarks right after changed that.
