I always thought that the method and manner that the Anthrax was deployed was simply a WARNING to the US. If we didn't back off and out of the Mideast then they would really depoly it and then some. The mailing of Anthrax was not effective in the dispersion it but by mailing it to news outlets it was reported rather widely.

You beat me to it. The anthrax mailings seemed more like a test or probe than an actual attack (likelihood of success/casualties was low). There's no nastiness our enemies are incapable of, and the sooner and harder they are crushed the better. As Michael Ledeen always says, faster please.
