My family has lived in So. Cal. since the 1880s & I abandoned it in 1996.
Funny how so many people "just don't get it"!
It's not only the whacko elites in the Democrap party who brought this on us, it's also the retarded Republicrats as well.
The single worse thing that ever happened to California concerning illegal immigration was Reagon's illegal alien amnesty....now Bush wants to follow the same insane path.
The only way we are ever going to turn back to a law abiding Republic is it to get rid of the two party system....unfortunately, a snowball would have a better chance in hell.
Enjoy the cesspool Amerikans....don't forget your life jacket!

On May 1 1995, the League of United Latin American Citizens ("LULAC") and another of the original plaintiffs sought summary judgment, stating that Proposition 187 is unconstitutional because it is preempted by the Federal government's exclusive constitutional authority over the regulation of immigration, Congress' exercise of that power through the Immigration and Nationality Act, and other federal statutes. If it is indeed the case that the Federal Government has exclusive constitutional authority over the regulation of immigration, and which was supposedly the basis for overturning Prop 187 in California, then why is it that individual states have passed laws that grant certain privileges to illegal aliens, such as driver's licenses and in-state tuition for college attendance? If states can't deny services to illegal aliens because immigration is exclusively a federal matter, then why can states grant special privileges to illegal aliens if immigration is exclusively a federal matter?

I think you have a great point. But these days Politically Correct laws are never challenged, just as all initiatives like Prop. 187 come under immediate well-funded attack by special interest groups like LULAC and the ACLU. Somehow they always prevail. That's because the judicial deck is stacked.
The Democrats/Socialists decided long ago the courts would be their path to ultimate power in the era when "Republican" Earl Warren started making new radically liberal law from the bench. Despite the fact this has been going on for nearly 50 years many Americans are still amazingly unaware of how the game is played. I don't have the specific answer to your question but some Freeper with legal knowledge will probably explain it.

Thanks for the clue. I've been under the impression for years that anyone born here was automatically a citizen. Now why is that? Hmmm....
So if the little ones aren't citizens, why are we educating them, feeding them, and doctoring them?
To: TheSpottedOwl
Did you read the 14th Amendment as it is?
Did you read the liberal interpretation?
Do you believe them to be the same?
The Supreme Court won't either.
Nobody's ever challenged the liberal interpretation of the 14th Amendment in the Supreme Court.
Most people just assume that there's some law that says that all people born in the United States are automatically citizens of the United States regardless of the circumstances of their birth.
They don't bother to look it up themselves.
Does it surprise you that much?
It shouldn't. It should sound familiar.

Eventually, illegal immigrants will reap the same poverty they had in Mexico.Americans really need to travel to the border and take a very close good look around cities like Ciudad Juarez ---especially the south part of town where people are living in cardboard boxes and open latrines and really think about why we would want these conditions in the US. Also look at the crime rate of that city and ask themselves why we wouldn't limit immigration in any way. They shouldn't depend on newspaper articles or word of mouth but they should see with their own eyes what is headed our way.

Sorry, they're too busy watching Oprah, the Soaps, the Tonight Show, Football, Basketball and Christmas shopping right now.
Maybe next year they'll find some time to pay attention to the borders.

LA in 25 years will be a cesspoolEvery illegal alien that I apprehend is going to LA. I'll give LA 10 years before it looks exactly like a 3rd world sh*thole south of the border.

Riddle: What do you get when the U.S. Taxpayers subsidize a Latino country for 100 years at a cost of 100s of Billions of dollars and bestow full, tax-free citizenship on all of them regardless of their allegiance?
Answer:
- 20% English fluency.
- #1 murder rate in the USA.
- #1 murder rate of officers in the line of duty in the USA. Only Illinois and California come close.
- #6 rate of AIDS in the USA.
- Molotov Cocktails thrown at American servicemen and women and the terrorists released absolutely, 'Scott Free'.
In a word, Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico is proof that just giving BILLIONS of U.S. Taxpayer's Dollars and 'FREE' U.S. CITIZENSHIP to millions of people from any country, that haven't earned it, DOESN'T WORK!

Well, if most Americans weren't legally retarded, they wouldn't put up with the politicians from both monopolistic idiocracie sending millions of dollars out in foreign aid out everyday....
Americans are the most gullible morons in history, weve almost destroyed our own country to take care of a world who sees us as patsies....
BTW, don't forget to pay all of your taxes, it's the humanitarian thing to do and the politicians are counting on you.

"BTW, don't forget to pay all of your taxes, it's the humanitarian thing to do and the politicians are counting on you." Not to mention the 11 to 15 million illegal aliens in the USA and the 4 million Puerto Rican-Americans in Puerto Rico that are counting on us to pay our taxes.
It might be fun to compile the complete 'List of Leeches' (our LOL) that are sucking our treasury dry every year. ;^)

Thanks for your comments in your post #83.

"It might be fun to compile the complete 'List of Leeches' (our LOL) that are sucking our treasury dry every year."
You made a slight mistake in your last sentence.
It's not "Our Treasury", it's the Federal Reserve's "Treasury"....the Secretary of the Treasury (a Presidential cabinet position) is an employee of the Federal Reserve, which BTW in case you didn't know is a private entity.
I am in constant bewilderment in how the American people can be so brain-dead to trust the Federal Reserve, Democraps and Republicrats with running the political, economic and day-to-day operations of America.
Anyone who doesn't understand what I'm talking about, I suggest you read a book called "The Beast from Jekyll Island" for starts.
Of course, I'm assuming that your one of the 1% of Americans who can actually read.....
