Additionally, Mexico is an ally, not an enemy. The xenophobia of some in our conservative community is unwarranted. Making some common sense moves and agreements with friends is important. This is, I believe, one of those moves.
On a TOTALLY unrelated subject, I believe all this flak about Saudi Arabia is going to be proven to be much ado about nothing. I believe there is so much going on under the table, the press is going to be stunned when it comes out...if it ever does. We will win the War on Terror, and I believe the Saudis, whose self-interest alone dictates they back the winning team, are playing along in covert ways.
It isn't xenophobia. It's border security.
We can't know what's loaded on the trucks, and they don't inspect every truck at the border.
Very easy to stick a nuke on one and drive it to your friendly naive US destination...
With an "ally" like Mexico, who needs enemies. Also, I wish Mexico wasn't so dang racist and xenophobic, what with a national population that is 92% Latino. I guess they just don't like having too many non-brown faces in Mexico. Hey, President Fox, you ever hear of multiculturalism or diversity?
I find it hard to continue trusting a President who is trying to get me to go along with an amnesty plan that I know would encourage more incursions along our southern border. Besides, it is plain wrong and a violation of our laws. (It is our laws and justice system that makes the U.S. different than most other place. Here I don't have to bribe a civil clerk to get my car out of impound; I did have to pay a bribe when I lived in Spain.)
A guest worker plan for temporary migrants I can accept. Amnesty for millions who came here illegally? No.
You validated my opinion that you DO NOT know what you're talking about. I am NOT going to get into a debate about the trucks...my comment only refers to your above statement.
