Yep. First they got their Campaign Finance Reform approved and next they want (but won't happen under GOP control) a return to the Fairness Doctrine, so the government can regulate political speech.

Here’s what the Democrats will do.  The CFRI has a provision in it that outlaws the use of soft money to run radio and television ads for any particular candidate or political party during the last 60 days leading up to Election Day.  The Democrats will claim that the Rush Limbaugh Show, and other shows like his, are nothing less than paid political advertisements for the Republican Party or for a specific Republican candidate or issue, paid for by the businesses and corporations who advertise on these shows.

Won't fly in the case of Rush or Hannity. Both remind listeners often that they support "conservative" principles wherever they can be found. At the present time, conservative principles are best exemplified in the GOP, but neither Rush or Hannity specifically say "vote for GOP candidates". They say vote for "conservative candidates" and are openly critical of GOP officials who are RINO's.

We knew this was coming. It's funny how the liberals lean on the constitution when it suits them. First Amendment? Nah. Only when it defends burning the flag.

This will be a fight we cannot afford to lose.

Hannity had a liberal caller on his show yesterday whose best argument was to call him a "... gutless bastard..." for 10 minutes. Isn't that presenting the other side? Liberals can't survive on radio because they have no real audience. Is it any wonder people are leaving network news in droves for the likes of Fox News?

NPR couldn't give equal time to conservative programming because there aren't 48 hours in a day. " All Things Considered ", hardly.

Screw them. We won, they lost.

This may be rambling, but it's early and I'm already ticked.

That is precisely why all of our energy should be to pack the Federal courts with as many constitutionalists and conservatives as is humanely possible. Enough to give us a 40 year breather.

Expect them to also start going after the Internet pretty soon as well. After talk radio, the World Wide Web (especially sites like this one) is the biggest threat to total liberal control of information, which is what they are after.

Did anybody see the panelists on Brit Hume's FNC show last night, talking about this and mocking Daschle.

I think it was Fred Barnes, and paraphrasing, his commentary was "Watch out, Rush Limbaugh is fomenting violence with on talk radio by reading Wall Street Journal editorials on the air!"
