Let me see if I know your tune: "It is thus necessary that the individual should come to realize that his own ego is of no importance in comparison with the existence of his nation; that the position of the individual ego is conditioned solely by the interests of the nation as a whole ... that above all the unity of a nation's spirit and will are worth far more than the freedom of the spirit and will of an individual. .... This state of mind, which subordinates the interests of the ego to the conservation of the community, is really the first premise for every truly human culture .... we understand only the individual's capacity to make sacrifices for the community, for his fellow man."
What I would not do is sit back and utter pseudo-intellectual statements about our "hawkish" foreign policy and how it makes little turd-world malcontents mad at us. Who cares?
Bin Laden cared. Cared enough to plot the death of 3,000 (attempted 50,000+). The days of Superpowers striking with impunity are over. Your cavalier, gung-ho attitude has come back to bite us. Your response is sadly more of the same...
The attitude that came back to bite US was that employed by the Pro-Tyranny Left during Clinton's failed regime. The attitude that won US the Cold War is being employed by America now, and you and yer stick-yer-head-in-sand compatriots on the Left are just gonna haveta git used to the adults being back in charge!!
LOL...thanks fer playing the thread-DOLT, though...MUD
BTW...MurryMom, is that you?
Exclamatory remarks like Mud's made are a manifestation of his confidence, pride, & admiration of those in our Armed Forces who are now, or will be, fighting to defend the priciples of honor, freedom, & liberty.
I've a great-nephew in the Marine Corps & I'm certain he'd prefer the company of someone like Mud at a barstool beside him than one with a Carteresque mindset.
