As for ML, let's give her the mother of all retirement parties.....

LOL! We're working hard to bring this about. Was at Terrell headquarters this afternoon, as was Patriot1, and I can tell you taht there is a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for her campaign. For many of us, it's almost a religious crusade. We are determined to defeat Mary Landrieu and will work tirelessly until Dec. 7 to bring about a Suzie Terrell victory!

Awesome! I'm proud to say -- I sent my contribution to the Terrell campaign last week. And the check's already been cashed.

Everyone, don't forget to watch the debate on MTP tomorrow.

John Cooksey, a completely pro-life Republican (which Susie Terrell isn't)

Harvestmoon, you are dead wrong about this. I am also from Louisiana, and I have attended a number of forums at which Suzie Terrell has emphatically stated that she is a practicing Catholic and has always been pro-life, and she will be a pro-life Senator and will vote for pro-life legislation. By the way, Cooksey supports exclusions from pro-life legislation for the "health of the mother," which is really unacceptable to most pro-lifers. Suzie does not support this exclusion. Mary Landrieu, on the other hand, supports abortion on demand. There is just no comparison between these two candidates. Suzie has Louisiana values and Mary doesn't.

Susie's entire campaign against Mary was attack ads and no platform.

I would in no way consider the anti-Mary Landrieu ads sponsored by the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee as "attack" ads. These ads mostly talked about Mary Landrieu's voting record, which I consider fair game. And the commercial that Gov. Foster complained about criticized Mary for building a mansion in DC. This is hardly an "attack" ad. These ads were so mild that I can't believe that anyone could get upset about them. By the way, Suzie's legislative agenda is just fine with me--to support the Bush agenda when it does not conflict with Louisiana. Suzie is pro-life, anti-tax, pro second amendment, pro ANWR drilling, pro strict-constructionist judges, etc. This sounds great to me!

Since when is accurately stating your opponent's actions a "negative attack ad"? Nobody has yet said they weren't true, just that they were "negative".

Well said, omegatoo. There was absolutely nothing in the ads that wasn't true--I guess the truth hurts!

This sounds great to me!

She sounds like a winner to me too, newslady. Also sounds like the campaign is building up a head of steam. I'm working on a jpeg I think you'll like. If I finish it this evening, er, tonight, I'll post it here...

Thanks newslady,
I'm going to try to get to the headquarters Monday morning after I drop the freeplet off at school. Maybe I'll see you there.

You might see Patriot1 there, but I will be working during the day, unfortunately, and won't be able to help at Terrell Headquarters until after work. Tell your adorable little freeplet hello for us. I guess she has grown a lot since the last time we saw her at last year's Veteran's Day ceremony at Tulane University.

Well, if the construction has traffic on Clearview tied up as badly as it did last week, you might still get there before me. Yep, Freeplet is growing like a weed...it seems like longer than a year has gone by, tho. Oh, well, I'm off to bed now. Night all.

Spectacular news. Having the preferred "Christian" candidate endorse Terrell certainly will complicate ML's problems. I hope they ALL turn out for this extremely important runoff. I'll be praying with them.

What the hell does the Governor plan to do about vote fraud in Orleans Parish. Mary stole one election there already.

One reform in our voting procedure is that every voter must show a photo ID in order to vote. It's not a big guarantee, but it's something. Mrs. Terrell has been election commissioner for the past few years. She talks about cutting staff, cutting costs, and eliminating the office, but I suspect that she may have also taken some steps to eliminate election fraud. It would be funny if she were the first candidate to benefit from the steps she took to eliminate fraud. If we have a clean election here, it might be more about what Mrs. Terrell has done as election commissioner than anything that the governor has done. If anyone can confirm or refute this guess, I'd love to hear it confirmed or refuted.

I had seen a couple of houses around here with Perkins signs before November 5. I was going to offer them some of my Terrell signs anyway, but this will only make it easier. I went looking for one of these houses this afternoon. It was a good location, and I was certain that I would recognize it. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Maybe I'll try again next week. I'm hoping to meet with some Perkins supporters Monday night, and I'll try to get them to take signs.

Does Foster expect ever to get elected to anything again as a Republican?

Does Foster expect ever to get elected to anything again as a Republican?

In August, Karl Rove practically begged Governor Foster to run for this very seat because he was seen as the only Republican who would be almost certain to beat Mary Landrieu. When he refused, I remember many Republicans moaning and crying that the seat was certain to remain in Democrat hands.

Governor Foster refused to run because he's reached that age when he wants to hunt, fish, and enjoy his family. He certainly never expects to be elected to anything again as a member of any party because he's ready to leave politics. These constant threats of electoral retribution against him would be comical if they weren't so counterproductive.

Again folks, it's time to get past this defeatist attitude that Governor Foster's endorsement is all that important. If you've listened to what he's said, his real problem is with the NRSC and not with Mrs. Terrell. He's wrong to express his disagreement with the NRSC in a way that reflects badly on Mrs. Terrell, but it's over and done. We still have a great candidate who can win voters on her own merits without his endorsement. We should focus on that fact and not worry about other distractions.
