Saving Private Ryan is the most loathsome, insidious and vile movie in recent memory.

Guess I'll leave that one off my list of "must-see" films, eh?

Steyn does it again. Canada's collapse and the exodus of its learned class is good for the US, but I have to wonder how long it will be before the annexation of the shattered hulk.

"To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break with us who die
We shall not sleep,"
So few seem to "get it."

Clarity of thought and clarity of writing are each rare commodities. To find them both in one man is extraordinary.

Thanks for the Steyn Pings, Baron Von Pokey of Pingsylvania.
I thought Tom Siezmore (sp) said that in the movie, not Tom Hanks. Hmmm.

Thats true, but there is a ray of hope. Children are turning away from, from, well you know, the scum. The problem is everywhere in the English speaking world. However there are great areas that have not only defended, but beat back the enemies. The military, conservative Christians, Catholics and Jews. Unknown legions of tradesmen, small businessmen and families.
The scum have no law of nature right to what they have gotten, and frankly I think they cant keep what they have gotten. They have been evil liars and depraved ruiners. I know I am not on the defense, but the offense until I take the big dirt nap and have met many likewise.
Cheers and thank God for giving me, and us, so many enemies.

OK, I'll bite, why?Well, it's revisionist history at it's worst.
The movie suggests that U.S. servicemen didn't understand why they were fighting the Nazis, couldn't explain why they were being killed by the thousands in Europe. They we're on some unexplicable errand, that's all.
It's a major swipe at a whole generation of servicemen who during WWII knew very well what was at stake and why their sacrifice was necessary.
That Spielberg should turn his considerable talents in such a disrespectful direction is beyond me.

Saving Private Ryan is the most loathsome, insidious and vile movie in recent memory. Two words. "Pearl Harbor"
