Party stalwarts have come to see the culture as theirs alone. On Tuesday the voters disagreed.
It turns out that the Democrats' turnout miracle that painted half the country blue in the 2000 election was, after all, a miracle. DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe had so convinced himself that the Florida 2000 tie was the result of something real that he poured millions of Hollywood's box-office receipts into the state to burn down the Bush brothers. Jeb's win was the biggest rout in the contested elections.

What scares me is that the Dems are already exploring extralegal means of continuing their power despite their rejection by the electorate.
The liberal mindset is frighteningly unquestioning and selfsure. Given the choice between bending to popular opinion, and monkeywrenching the political system (e.g. Florida, NJ, S Dakota), they will always choose the latter.
We have already seen the first hints of a coalescence of interests and cooperation among marxist Democrats, race agitators, black Muslims, enviro-wackos, la Raza Mexicans, union thugs, idiot college rabblerousers, and Wahhabi mass murderers.
No one should disbelieve that the leftist's wet dream is a Zimbabwe-style general uprising of minorities and college students, led by radical academics and socialist politicians. If they see a truly bleak landscape for their legitimate political hopes, we can expect more brazen desperate actions, not thoughtful self-correction by the left.
Here, as in México, this is a generational fight in which the enemy is deeply entrenched on the high ground with big artillery.

Brilliant analogy. The PRI of old México. Scary though, 'cause neither the PRI nor the Democrats are dead, or even gasping for breath yet. They are both heavily institutionalized at the very heart of government machinery, so for a very long time it won't matter much whom the people elect.
Yes, it is a brilliany analogy. In reference to the "Wall St. Journal Board Show," I look forward to their often politically incorrect take on events every Friday at 9pm and recommend it!
The fright of Halloween is over, now it's time for Thanksgiving! (And here's hoping the new Senate gives us some nice Christmas presents!)
You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last.
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast.
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun,
Crying like a fire in the sun.
Look out the saints are comin' through
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.
The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense.
Take what you have gathered from coincidence.
The empty-handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets.
This sky, too, is folding under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.
All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home.
All your reindeer armies, are all going home.
The lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor.
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.
Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you.
Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you.
The vagabond who's rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore.
Strike another match, go start anew
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.
Thought you'd like to see this.
Yeah, I've done the same thing as you. In our youth we can be deceived so easily. It all sounded so good back then, but was it the lyrics or the melodies?
Watching the Democrats' confused reaction to the outcome of this election, reminded me of the chorus to Ballad of a Thin Man. The Democrats and their followers are now "Mister Jones".
Because something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?
