[history]
Attorney General Janet Napolitano increased her lead to 25,500 votes Wednesday morning, but 221,000 ballots statewide remain to be counted, which election officials said will take until Monday.
Napolitano, a Democrat, led her Republican opponent, former U.S. Rep Matt Salmon, by a margin of 472,663 to 447,140 with all of the state's 2,082 precincts reporting, according to figures from the Secretary of State's Office.

DU site is not really down. It's a way to keep us off. No big deal, but I wondered why. I clicked on the "articles" section at the bottom of the page. It brought up the articles page, and I noticed the link to their discussion forum was really open. I clicked on that.
They're planning and they'd prefer we not read it.
Just thought I'd mention it if anyone wants to keep upon their recient "lack-of-brain-storms."

In Maricopa County, there are about 181,000 ballots still to be counted...Pima County still has to count about 30,000 ballots, and the other 13 counties have to count another 10,000 ballots.
It doesn't look good for Salmon unless the uncounted ballots diverge greatly from the county numbers tabulated thus far. Salmon edged Napolitano 47.0 to 45.2 in Maricopa County, but Napolitano won Pima County 52-38.
If the uncounted ballots break the same way as the counted votes in those two counties, Napolitano will increase her margin by about 1000 votes.

By my calculations, in order for Salmon to beat Janet 'Reno' Napolitician (freakin' commie-lib carpetbagger witch) he needs to pull at least 61% of the remaining 221,000 votes left to be counted.
I would like to know which precincts these votes are coming from so that we can look at the results from those precincts and extrapolate to see if there's even a prayer that Salmon could defeat the dirtbag Dem.

This is nothing nefarious, but rather one of the good features of Arizona's election process. A ballot is cast "to be verified" under any one of a number of circumstances:
1. If a voter cannot be found in the roles at the polling place he can cast a "Ballot to be Verified"
2. If a voter requested an early or absentee ballot but comes to the polling place to vote he may cast a live "Ballot to be Verified"
3. Each and every early ballot and absentee ballot cast, whether mailed in or handed in, is considered a "Ballot to be Verified"
The verification is a matter of insuring that the voter is registered, has not cast another ballot, and that the signature on the envelope containing the ballot matches that on file at the County Recorder's office. The ballot itself must be the lawful form, but there is no content check in the process.

Ms. Napolitano has no connection to the judge that appears on FoxNews. She was appointed as US attorney for Arizona by Clinton and was elected to Attorney General. She portrayed herself as a moderate, but she is truly a socialist. Thank God Arizona still has Republican majorities in its house and senate. Gridlock will be the rule around here for the next four years...

Salmon edged Napolitano 47.0 to 45.2 in Maricopa County, but Napolitano won Pima County 52-38. Here's some info on our governor's race. See these numbers and and you can see that Pima County where I live is the liberal part of AZ-sigh.
But we re-elected Kolbe last night overwhelmingly and when they interviewed his opponent, Mary Judge Ryan, I was impressed by her deep, deep bitterness. It was not a pretty sight.

I had heard lastnight can't remeber if it was radio or tv that many of these were from the east valley which would be heavy Salmon supporters. Maybe someone else has better info. than I.

Have you ever seen the women that have been governor of AZ? I wish I knew how to post pics but the first, Rose Mofford, a demo. had a whitish-gray beehive hairstyle, wore bright red lipstick, and sported lots of mascara. Then there was Jane Hull, RINO, red hair. Now Janet---ugh!!!!!!!!!! Women ought to be ashamed of themselves in selecting Janet but you know......it's for the children. I heard some women calling our local radio saying that they would vote for her because they trust her with education and they did not mind having their taxes raised.

"We had the vote yesterday," Napolitano told The Republic. "I don't know why the last slug of Maricopa County votes would be all that different."While conceding she is probably correct in her point, I find her choice of the term "slug" to refer to outstanding votes most curious.

Have you ever seen the women that have been governor of AZ?Well, since you mention it, does anyone else think that Janet Napolitano looks like a younger, taller Donna Shalala?
