"Those 3,000+ libertarian votes would have been nice to have. Alas, some people never learn....."

The one-percenters strike again!
But, hey, you've got to admit that their numbers are increasing. Don't they usually fall within the .5 percent or less bracket?

That is the only time I wouild think about watching the Today Show, to see her cry and pout. Too bad I was at a basketball game last night, I would have loved to see if Peter Jennings had another meltdown like he did in 1994.

I hope they DO go to the extreme left...while it might have been a good strategy in this election where they obviously didn't energize their base, in 2004, a Presidential election year, more moderates will vote, and a far-left Democratic Party will be soundly defeated.

"Little timmy has already said the count will take weeks or months - I guess we will wait and see. "

They have to dig up some more dead Dem votes out of some boxes in some store room that were already cast waiting for just such a recount..

You are right about not energizing our base. Voting for the president on items like the tax cut and holding up the Homeland Defense bill told us that we weren't really standing for something, we're standing in the way for something.

I say, take stand for something - ANYTHING!!! - and let the chips fall where they may. Right now isn't a good time to help the helpless, people want to fight a war and pay off their credit cards...

I think they will either catch their heads, reform their party, or run Hillary. I'd bet Hillary. Those Clintons are not going to let go of that party. Sickening.

I hope you're right, but I can't think of any dim-moderates at the moment.

The New York Times and Washington Post will undoubtedly declare war on the GOP.

In the upcoming days and weeks, if you read their headlines you'll swear homeless people are falling from the sky and every single child in America is starving to death.

Oregon certainly does NOT thank the Libertarians! With 70% of the vote counted it is looking like this in the Governor's race:

Ted Kulongoski.... (D)... 473,424 48%
Kevin Mannix....... (R)... 466,778 47%
Tom Cox..............(L)... 45,117 5%

Again.....the "L's" screw the system. And look what is probably going to happen!

Homeland defense and those Judges killed you guys. Toppling Daschell would help you, too. I think his ego and craving for power is working against.

Before you blame the L's, my guess is that in both WA and OR, the turnout among conservatives will actually be to blame. Betcha Christian conservatives stayed home. Folks out there are just so discouraged. The entire west coast has falled in the the hands of socialist vipers.

Wow, I can only hope they'd be dumb enough to run Hillary. I have a pretty good imagination but can barely imagine a scenario where she could win. She just simply does not have her husband's abilities to deceive people about her intentions and be likeable to the masses.

The media has been awful this morning. So very biased. I'd like to give them the answer to their question of-WHAT HAPPENED? ROFLOL.

I don't see them turning inward for reform. Who else have they got to put up for President?

Great point about the judges, I forgot about those (I bet that's first on the your agenda!). Blocking those items were essential in some cases, politics in others. As for blame, I think there is plenty to go around, but we need to get off our duffs and get back in this thing instead of pointing fingers...With that said, Daschle had to become more liberal than even he would want to satisfy the rank and file. SD democrats are about as republican as you can get and still wear blue...

Wow, I can only hope they'd be dumb enough to run Hillary.

I have a hunch that these losses will serve to drive the whacky LibDems even further left. If so, Lady Hillary MacBeth will be their 2004 nominee for president.

Don't assume all Libertarians will vote for Repubs. Many of them are dopers who are upset because the Dems won't act on marijuana.

If the Dems do win (steal) South Dakota, and win Louisiana eventually in December or whenever they have that run-off and then gain Rhode Island when Lincoln Chafee does a "Jumpin Jim Jeffords" and switches parties, then the Dems pick up three more seats...

I really wish Zell miller would switch to Republican as a protest if/when Lincoln Chafee does.
