A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

SOME OF FR'S FINEST PROFILE PAGES #6
Many Freepers have taken advantage of the opportunity to create a Profile Page. The results of these creations are often illuminating, humorous, inspirational, artistic or biographic, just to mention a few descriptive words.
Below are some randomly selected FR's Finest Profile Pages. There are, of course, many other FR's Finest Profile Pages worthy of featuring, and we will be featuring them in future editions of Some of FR's Finest Profile Pages. If you have a Profile Page you would like to share, or if you come across a Profile Page that you want to bring to our attention, you know the drill - freepmail Billie, Mama_Bear, Dansangel or myself.
In the meantime, please take a look at Some of FR's Finest Profile Pages #6.
HairOfTheDog's Profile Page is a must see for animal lovers. She has ample photos of her horses and dogs, some on her Profile Page per se and some on a link to her photo album. She also includes a short personal bio--and guys, she's single!
rdb3's Profile Page is biographical and is presented in a very interesting way. It is composed of photographs, drawings, links and poetry. View this Profile Page and you will be impressed with this very interesting FReeper.
Fiddlestixs Profile Page is an ambitious effort by him. It has so much on it that it is impossible to describe in this allotted space. Just visit it and you will understand. It is both fun and informative.
BellStars Profile Page is notable for a couple of very interesting links, one to BellStar's WWII Veteran Father's Web Page and one to the Web Site of Kemah Texas, an interesting seaside city.
glock rocks Profile Page has a photo of a Glock and, if you click on the photo, it will connect you to a site that will tell you everything you will ever need to know about the Glock. Other interesting photo links on this Profile Page also.
Terrys Take is an artist and conservative political cartoonist. She frequently changes the cartoons on her Profile Page to reflect her latest work. There is also a link to her Web Site which features even more of her work.

THIS WEEK'S THREADS
11-04-02 Surprise
Opinions by our own 'King of Ping'
The guy's good, folks!
Thanks, Mixer!
1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar. 2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me an FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer |

Jesus Hugs
Have you ever had a "Jesus hug",
Do you know what one feels like?
If you've never had a "Jesus hug",
I pray one day you might.
A "Jesus hug" is different,
As far as hugging goes;
It's a little taste of Heaven,
Here on earth below.
Only those who love the Lord,
Can give a "Jesus hug";
It conveys God's grace and mercy,
And unconditional love.
Those who give out "Jesus hugs"
Always seem to somehow know
Just when you're in need of one
To make your spirit glow.
And if you ever need one
I hope that I will see,
So I can give you a "Jesus hug";
Just like someone did for me.

Heads up all. I heard an interview today of a NBC reporterette who spent a year following the president's campaign. She privately videotaped Bush WITH HIS PERMISSION, said he basically was in control of the thing, and it's airing tonight (9 or 9:30 on HBO). While she said she didn't agree with his politics SHE REALLY LIKED HIM and this is a light hearted look at what a nice guy he is.
Although part of me is skeptical she sounded sincere enough that I just signed up for HBO. Will tape it tonight and...if it's good will try to make copies for HBO impaired folks.
To: dutchess
I just saw a promo on this; she asked him if he were a tree, what kind of tree he would be. His answer ..... I wouldn't be a tree, I'm a Bush. I missed part of the first about him liking Bologna sandwiches. I don't have HBO but if I did I would watch.

The reporterette thingy is Nancy Pelosi's daughter. She learned, that notwithstanding her impeccible liberal credentials, that her fellow media ghouls turned on her for being at all human towards GWB.She was shunned and GWB gave her some solace and consideration.I'm not suprised, as libs put their own selfish interests ahead of all other decent human considerations, like honesty, trustworthiness and true friendship. It must come as big suprise to learn of such betrayals and to find out how easy it has been to be manipulated and discarded.I doubt that even conservatives are immune to such treachery.

A man came home from work late again, tired and irritated, to find his 5 year old son waiting for him at the door.
"Daddy, may I ask you a question?"
"Yeah, sure, what is it?" replied the man.
"Daddy, how much money do you make an hour?
"That's none of your business! What makes you ask such a thing?" the man said angrily.
"I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?" pleaded the little boy.
"If you must know, I make $20.00 an hour."
"Oh," the little boy replied, head bowed. Looking up, he said, "Daddy, may I borrow $10.00 please?"
The father was furious. "If the only reason you wanted to know how much money I make is just so you can borrow some to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you're being so selfish. I work long, hard hours everyday and don't have time for such childish games."
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even madder about the little boy's questioning. How dare him ask such questions only to get some money.
After an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think he may have been a little hard on his son. Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $10.00, and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door. "Are you asleep son?" he asked.
"No daddy, I'm awake," replied the boy.
"I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier," said the man. "It's been a long day and I took my aggravation out on you. Here's that $10.00 you asked for."
The little boy sat straight up, beaming. "Oh, thank you daddy!" he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow, he pulled out some more crumpled up bills. The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, then looked up at the man.
"Why did you want more money if you already had some?" the father grumbled.
"Because I didn't have enough, but now I do," the little boy replied.
"Daddy, I have $20.00 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?"
Share some time with those who need you.
They need our time more then we will ever know.

Here's a quote from another thread about rdb3 bringing up his young cousin right. That's not just a good webpage, rdb3, that's a good mind you have! Read on:
My cousin has me thinking about all of the things surrounding me. More times than not, I find his words to be correct. I used to think Bill Clinton was okay. I listened to rdb3 speak against him and thought my cuz was stupid. But after examining tons of evidence, my cuz was right. I can't deny that anymore.
To: Mama_Bear
I've made a big pot of beef stew and a pot of rice so I'm staying in to watch the elections unfold.
What I can't understand is after there was 90% approval of our President last year during the war in Afghanistan why the elections should be running so close today. Are Americans really that fickle?!
To: habs4ever; lodwick
Thank you, Habs.
At one time I had a graphic of an Elephant kicking Ass but it looks like I have lost it. If I still had it, you would be looking at it now. LOL ( I have confidence that Lodwick will find one! grin)

lodwick. What a touching story.
habs...thanks for the background. Your right...libs certainly turn on their own. Also heard an interview with Linda Chavez regarding her new book. She said she was basically a socialist until she "saw the light" when all the libs were so condesending and it was their goal to keep the minorities oppressed. Sounds like a good read!

I don't think so but call your local company. I signed up for a month, it cost an extra $10.00 (worth it to me!). I am going to tape it and maybe Dr.Deb can make copies (I don't have the necessary equipment).
