Boy, that's right between the eyes! Excellent. Excusing the "speakers" would be one thing, but what about the behavior of the 20,000 "mourners"?

To say it was disgusting would be too kind.

Reading this article, it dawned on me what has been nagging at me since I watched that bizarre performance -- Adolph Hitler riling up the masses. It was like watching a movie and I don't excuse any of the speakers including his sons.

His sons showed not one bit of emotion until the youngest son starting his chant and when he sat down couldn't have been prouder of himself. No one talks about their parents passing away when they were killed in a horrific plane crash.

Something is wrong with the whole bunch and personally believe that the speeches were scripted as it ended right before the nightly news on purpose -- well timed and orchestrated and not spontaneous -- they knew what they were doing including the sons IMHO! I could be wrong but this had the fingerprints of the Clinton DemocRAT Party all over it.

It was totalitarian. I'm waiting for the Paul Wellstone Lied to come out of this.

Die Fahne Hoch! Die Reihe dicht Geschlossen
Demokraten marschiert, Mit ruhig festem Schritt

You get the idea. Not much really has to change to give the DFL its traditional anthem.

You forgot the third verse;

Zum letzten Mal wird nun Appell geblasen.
Zum Kampfe steh'n wir alle schon bereit.
Bald flattern Hill'ry-fahnen über allen Straßen.
Die Freiheit dauert nur noch kurze Zeit.

In the world that Wellstone wanted where the government runs everything, he would still be waiting for a coffin. His sons would be spending hours each day filling out forms, requests, and personal inventories. They would be trotting down to the local assessors office to hand over 95% of their fathers assetts to the tax collector. The government would be putting up "For Sale" signs on the Wellstone house so they could sell it and give the proceeds to a federal project for teaching art to the homeless.

Ach ja mit allem singen wir froh
Die Welt ist ganz erschienen!
Dass Pauly raschend grusst dem Tod
Unser Held und Opfer treu gedienen!

Very nicely written. Christopher Caldwell understands exactly where this stuff is coming from, and it isn't pretty.

Yes, Paul Wellstone's sons were as guilty as any of the rest of them. If they repent afterwards, well and good. But it was a horrible spectacle of inhumanity run rampant. A Maoist re-education camp indeed.

Ach du lieber Gott! Full marks for you both! "Klintonglaubigmann" . . . "Die Freiheit dauert nur noch kurze Zeit." - sehr Gut!

Cato, shouldn't it be "erschoßen" to rhyme with "geschloßen"? 'Course I haven't spoken with Mr. Wessel lately ('course he's dead, but . . . ) :-D

I gather you haven't looked at any of the other threads on this subject since Monday. It is amazing the number of people I've had contact with who INDEPENDENTLY have come up with the same observation, eg. - the parallels to the rise of Hitler, and the Third Reich. One buddy of mine said it really reminded him of the brownshirts, etc... He's a historian, and, pre-Klintoon, a Democrat.

Outanding third verse, thanks for adding in... I just thought the alterations too few as I scanned it -- but oh, those two words!

AAM, yes erschossen rhymes and was in the original. It's just that Arkancide has taken so many forms, and I wanted some alterations, that I went with the broader ermoerdert.

Wait 'til you see what we can do with Heil Hitler Dir!

Oooooh! Good choice . . . here's a start on the third verse:

3. Du hast das Volk verschreckt,
Demokratie verdreckt,
Heil Hitlery!
Du schaffst das Höllesreich
Knechtlich und sondergleich.
Schurkens Erretter hier,
Heil Hitlery!

Kind of a rough first effort. I'm sure it can be improved. Somebody else want a shot at verses 1 & 2? We could "heil" somebody else too, or stick with Hitlery throughout . . . ???

FYI
Democratic operatives planned, engineered Wellstone political rally
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/779570/posts

For what it's worth I haven't talked to anyone who wasn't angry about how the rats handeled the pep-rally. And a large number were switching their votes based on this.

The totalitarianism evident in the event was the "elephant in the election"

The rally reminded me of that videotape of Saddam Hussein speaking in a large auditorium, calling out politicians by name for being disloyal, followed by guards ushering them away by the arm to be executed. I hadn't seen anyone else fully describe the true perverted spirit of the event until now.

As bad as the media reaction was, they avoided what it meant when somehow it took place within the borders of the United States. Scary to watch

I wonder if the truth about who planned the event will come out now that Terry McAuliffe is being scapegoated?

It reminded me of Nazi Germany when the guy started asking people to "say yes" -- it sounded remotely familiar to seig heil (sp). Took me awhile to figure out they were saying "say yes!"
