Enslavement of the African-Americans (before and after the Civil War)...the English are responsible for most of the enslavement and the Americans are only partly responsible for it and for only 76 years. There was no United States until 1789 and until the end of the civil war only certain states allowed slavery. Whenever you hear the 3 to 5 hundred years of slavery touted by race baiters and welfare pimps remember that Americans were only slightly responsible for a short time.
