A painful bump. . .

. . .how much precious media time is wasted; time that could be educating and awakening a gigantic sleeping population of the world. Why is their such silence?

Consider only the numerous absent and wasted hours of just 'theorizing' about the mind of the 'sniper' we have witnessed the past few weeks. . .

. . .time wasted, minds wasted, while a civilization sinks below it's own horizon.

. . .and takes a little of all of us, with it.

Where's Jimmy or Jesse? Opposition cites harassment, intimidation in race for parliament seat*** In the June 2000 parliamentary elections, Mugabe faced his most serious challenge since coming to power in 1980. The opposition won 57 seats to the ruling party's 62 in the race. Mugabe had controlled all but three seats in the previous legislature. The Movement for Democratic Change has since lost one seat after the death of another of its lawmakers.

Ruling party officials say victory in Insiza and a third seat left vacant by the death Tuesday in a jail cell of an opposition lawmaker, is an important step towards reducing the opposition's power in the 150-seat parliament. Mugabe appoints 30 lawmakers and needs a two-thirds majority vote to change the nation's constitution. The opposition has blocked proposed constitutional changes. If the ruling party wins the two by-elections it will be four seats short of carrying a two-thirds vote.***

Amidst all these tragedies there are two common factors and that is that when something goes horribly wrong, the worlds cameras are there and the citizens of a country turn to their police and army for help. These two binding factors are the very things that Zimbabwe so desperately needs. These two binding factors are the very things that Zimbabwe so desperately needs.

The world press isn't interested, Mugabe isn't white. Ian Smith was demonized for trying to prevent a Marxist take-over, and the resulting horrors are not in the left-wings' playbook. It was supposed to become a black Marxist paradise as the blacks threw the evil white "colonials" out, and not the hell on earth is becoming. So it's a non-story.

With a disarmed citizenry, there's only one solution for the whites - GET OUT! Those that stay will be demonized by the government as the cause of all the starvation. When Stalin's plans for the Soviet Union failed miserably, he'd invent enemies to blame. By accusing "wreckers" of thwarting the plans of the State, Stalin was able to divert attention from the real reasons for the failure of his schemes. The whites, and the oppostion party will be Mugabe's wreckers, as the West pays no attention. History does tend to repeat itself.

Now if they were to stroll across the southern border speaking Spanish, that's another story.

Let them stroll in the Canadian border. I remember Methodist church groups that actually had a sort of underground railroad for El Savadorian refugees into the US, and they were nowhere near as skilled and productive as the white Zimbabwean farmers. Our government legally allows thousands of Somalians in and 90% go immediately on welfare. I'd have no problems with helping white Zims.
