Well-wishers from around the country sent a steady stream of balloons, cookies, cakes and flowers to the office of Montgomery County Police Chief Charles A. Moose yesterday just to say "thank you."

"It looks like a botanical garden in there," said Montgomery County Police Officer Louise Marthens after a visit to the chief's office.

A lot of people on FR hit on Moose as being incompetent.

He seems to have done okay.

He seems to have done okay. Credit where credit's due, but the Moose didn't solve this, the Feds did. The Law didn't find these sniper wannabe's, a civilian did. If CNN, bite my tongue, hadn't aired the license plate # and description of the car, they'd still be out there. The Law refused to let the info out, someone leaked it to CNN. Blackbird.

Well, I don't mind admitting that I am still a bit confused about just how it did get solved. I've read a couple different versions, and none of them seem to make any sense. My impression is that that something is being left out of the accounts I've read.

I just don't like Moose being slandered simply because he is black. One way or another, the individuals in question are now in custody. Points to wherever they go. I don't think it was a simple thing.
