Sniper-Related Warrants Issued In Alabama
Authorities Search Suspected Terrorist Training Camp

POSTED: 10:05 p.m. CDT October 23, 2002
UPDATED: 10:18 p.m. CDT October 23, 2002

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Search warrants related to the D.C.-area sniper case were served Wednesday in various parts of the country, including the state of Alabama.

Sources told NBC13 that federal authorities from Montgomery were in the city of Marion in Perry County Wednesday night, armed with a warrant, and were searching property.

The search warrants are reportedly for a terror camp called "Ground Zero," which is located in Marion. The camp was discovered earlier this year following the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks in New York.

At the time, authorities thought militants from overseas trained at Ground Zero. There has been no official connection between the camp and the al-Qaida terror network. The owner of the camp said it was a training area for police officers.

NBC13 spoke with camp owner Mark Yates, of Tuscaloosa, who says he knows nothing of any investigation into his camp. Perry County Sheriff James Hood also told NBC13 federal authorities have not contacted him.

The Alabama search warrants were issued hours after authorities started searching a property in Tacoma, Wash. NBC13 has also learned that an Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agent from Alabama is assisting in the investigation in Tacoma.

Sources are describing the issuance of Wednesday's warrants both in Washington state and in Alabama as attempts to follow up on "solid leads."

Developments in this story are unfolding. NBC13 News and NBC13.com will have the latest details on the sniper search and the possible Alabama connection as they become available.

Curious that al Fuqra was locating itself in Virginia.

John Mohammed was a security guard for the Million Man March (Rush). Yet the media, especially CNN, is denying that their ideology had anything to do with their actions. Just poor dissatisfied former soldier.

al Fuqra is spread around America and in places you would never expect them.

The former compound near Clovis, Ca. collapsed after our exposure of it getting educational funds for having a charter school, millions of $'s. When those funds dried up, the compound dried up.

They had a target and firing range. They were not training to shoot Bugs Bunny or Bambi.

One of my concerns is, where did these people go, and in particuliar the ones who gained firearms skills.

Before this is over, we will see all types of links between these various Islamofascist Groups and their recruitment of Islamakazis from prisons in America and around the world.

I think we'll see even broader links. Lots of groups the world over hate the US, western values and capitalism. I'm wondering if these violent Islamists are not just unknowingly doing the biding of others who are using them for their own agenda?

Camp "Ground Zero" used police cars and school buses for weapons training purposes.

Nothing to see here then I guess. Move along.

Eventually we see who financed these groups to get them started and to maintain them. With most these groups we are not dealing with high income producing individuals. Convicted felons don't bring in much income.

So, the 64 million $ question is how did they get funding to organize them years ago and to stay afloat in some cases close to two decades.

IMHO, most of the Islamokazi terrorism is financed by elite IslamoFascists who get their money from petro $'s generated by Opec.

Methinks you owe me an apology.

Nope. I don't. There was no illegal activity going on.

"This sounds like one of those stories which is intended to mislead and deceive. Got a link to the story?" - Demidog

Methinks you owe me an apology. Sad that I have to point that out. After posting that picture, most people would have figured that out all on their own, since the "story" is not only true and backed up by photographic evidence, but also because it's clear that the "story" wasn't put out to decieve or mislead anyone...

None of the 24/7 news cables are picking up on your "duck in a noose" site.

Or, are they staying away because of the "Leonard Pelteir" mention?

Are the newsies so lazy and incompetent that they havnt searched?

Do they not want to add up some goodies, like BLACK MUSLIMS-NATION OF ISLAM-AMERICAN INDIAN-AL-QUAEDA?
