I agree about the National Guard in the woods, or LEO's. Someone needs to do it. I do think that way they would come closer to catching the killer/s than blocking traffic in every direction. It makes more sense to me, as the killer is long gone before the first people arrive on the scene. He is at least well on his way toward being gone, anyway. I do feel he has left the area before any LEO gets there.

Absolutely, by the time someone calls 911 after a shooting until the police can set up roadblocks and get to the scene the killer is long gone.
