I think you're describing the Caddy Seville Yes! Ugliest thing on the road. I lobbied for an ugliness tax for every Seville owner.
It always reminded me of the way a dog stands when taking a crap.

The Chevrolet Vega was Chevies answer to the Ford Pinto. I bought a Vega in 1973 and it started burning oil after 500 miles. We're talking huge blue plumes of smoke.

You read it here first: The Australian GTO is going to sell like hotcakes. GM will not be able to keep up with demand.

I think the Gremlin looks pretty cool. Hell, drop a pumped 283 in it and C-YA!!!
(I have a '78 Malibu) =0)

I remeber reading one of those magazine retrospectives (Life Magazine?) on the 70s and they had 1/2 to whole page mini-stories on all kinds of things from the 70s. When it came to the Chevy Vega, all they said was something like "There's something disconcerting about a car that rusts on the showroom floor".....

Dog crap....heh, heh!

Woo hoo! A "worst car" poll that DOESN'T include the Chevy Vega! Finally! :)

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Taurus. Any year. What turd-boxes. Or the horrible Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth offerings: TC3/Shelby(really)/Omni/Horizon/Mizer clones..They put the UGHH in ugly and leaked every fluid when they ran.

Have to agree about that '86 Eldo. Talk about devolution. Here's two earlier editions, from before the rot set in:

I own a 1983 BMW 633 CSI and just recently restored it. It's the best handling car I've ever driven and plan to keep it the rest of my life. When I travel and need to rent a car, the new machinery doesn't begin to measure up.

Another great thing about the Chevette was how easy it was for a group of 6-8 guys to lift the thing and move it to really weird places. Like, say onto a very steep bridge embankment.
Not that I would know anything about that...

They forgot about the Chevy Vega and the melting aluminum engine block.... Don't forget the melting body, that turned to rust.
Before I opened this thread I knew it had to be the Vega, and they forgot it.

Had an 82 Citation sedan w/ V6 and put 140,000 miles on it with no problems other than a fuel pump at around 100K, had a lockup torque converter and got phenomenal gas mileage. While the series may have been dogs, this particular car was very good.
