It's the prudent thing to do. Kids and parents are frightened. Why provide bait for the sniper?

C'mon, how long does this go on? Once the schools are closed what does it take to move to a decision to re-open them. Short of catching the sniper what will make it any safer to go to school Tuesday than tomorrow. Or maybe they stay closed all week...how will next week be any safer? This is crazy. I know it almost sounds cliche at this point but for God's sake we can't just close up shop and stay home, that's playing right into this b*stard's hands.

The schools are open unless they are closed, so they will re-open Tuesday, unless they decided and announce to close again.

I live here. You can't know what it's like; I homeschool, but I can tell you I think my own and my childs mental well-being is worth more than the cost of a built-in day off.

And I probably WILL stay home tomorrow. So there. No shopping, Home Depot or craft store...not till I am fairly certain Mr Sniper man has moved on.

That said, I'd give my life to catch him....

I would keep my daughter home if I lived near sniper slayings.....they aren't going to learn anything tomorrow, your kidding yourself if you don't think these kids are too frightened right now to focus. I understand Ashland is a small town, a place where there's infrequent killings and certainly, they've never been on the "world's map."
