Some of the Gun-Control crowd insist in a Police "Override" capability and even argue for a built in tracking device!

Anyone wonder why I prefer my old fashioned "dumb" guns?

I will not have a S&W -- new or used. There are plenty of good alternatives. I would like to see S&W's become literally worthless, with no demand and no value. It would serve as a good example for the other manufacturers.

The last I heard, Smith & Wesson was still on the clinton hook.

Until we hear otherwise, it seems to me that the boycott should continue.

Excellent research. All the more reason to avoid Smith & Wesson like a Nile mosquito. There are better pistols available without any of the political baggage attached. The last thing we want to do is lend any default approval to these collaborators.

I suppose everyone can go out and buy some Chicom POS if it makes them feel better. That will make a lot of sense.

Phone conversations that my father has had with some of the new management are interesting. They blame S&W's problems on the consumer, for boycotting them. They say that the contracts have not been desolved, but they are not being enforced at this time.

As to buying used S&W's, I will. They are good guns, except for the Sigma line and the SW99, and no moneys are going to the company from the purchase. You will not ever find a better trigger pull than on S&W revolvers.

Well written, I'll have to print this out and pass this along.

I would also like to ask how you think the current situation going on in DC (the sniper) is going to effect the gun grabbers ability to implement some of these horrendous ideas to take away our guns?

I would state for the record that I am a gun owner and believe that our gun rights "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED"

P.S. thanks for taking the time to research and write this article

Taurus offers nifty revolvers and until the end of the year, the purchase of a new firearm from them translates into a free NRA membership.

Thank you for your hard work.

To my mind, the S&W debacle has been an illustration of classic bait-and-switch, with the only thing standing between the gun-grabbers and victory the fact that gun owners are notoriously brand-loyal, and when that loyalty is betrayed, it takes a lot more than a PR campaign to resurrect it.

You take the weakest link in a chain...offer the management a deal that simultaneously covers their asses, frees them of responsibility, and undoes all their competitors by breaking ranks. Then, should there be a public scandal, as there was in this case, the top guy's head is sacrificed on a platter with much fanfare, and the EXACT SAME POLICIES remain in place. It is as if after the Nazis were defeated, we had placed all the blame on Hitler, left everything else untouched, and merely ignored the continued grinding of the Holocaust.

Granted, that is an extreme analogy, but I think it is important that no matter how much responsibility for the move the prez and the top brass bore for the move, we realize that the company as a whole must be destroyed, both for what it is continuing to do, and for what it represents on the moral scale of our constitution.

[1] First off. Let's be clear. The "Gun Grabbers" are still active.

So true I said this after 9-11 and every other time I hear " We got them on the run"

In WI. here is how the GG's used 911 to try and hide there goal.

WCCA legislative alert: Doyle's anti-terrorism bill bans guns

We cheer when we stop this group. shout We Won ! But the same people stay in power. And what has been pushed back. They just pick up were they left off. After a short time.

The study doesn't mention the primary weapon (as it were) of the scumbags - - frivilous lawsuit after frivilous lawsuit. The scumbags figure they can bleed suppliers and manufacturers dry in the courts. Even thought they almost always ultimately lose (often on appeal), the cost to defend against these lawsuits is oppressive. Our best defense against this tactic is to push for legislation by the states which protects innocent third-parties from these frivilous lawsuits. I believe a few states have already implemented such laws.
