At that speed the only thing it would be good for is close in ground support. I wonder what its survivability is.

In all seriousness I doubt this is really a combat aircraft but rather a full sized mockup to demonstrate the technological feasibility.

The low specs are because this aircraft is only a test platform for new construction methods and technology and now has been retired. This plane was operated for 38 flights in the mid-nineties, and now leasons learned are being applied to new aircraft. This aircraft will never see combat, but sofething based on it may have been built.

You can be sure that whatever was built after this study is very interesting. And I can't help but notice the timing of this press release: We're putting the heat on Iraq, and N.Korea thinks it's now a playa. These pictures just remind the world that we can hit you with stuff you've never dreamed of.
