I thought wearing bullet proof clothing was a federal violation?

"Possibly because they had to act fast to get the roadblocks in place"

They needed to get a composite sketch out to the public to be able to get the roadblocks in place? Have you really thought about that statement?

Yes, I heard that flood warning on the radio in D.C. Friday morning. Funny thing, although there was pretty heavy rain, there was nothing close to flooding in my county, Montgomery County, even though we were included in the warning. The warning, by the way, happened soon after the shooting that morning.

Stupid laws shouldn't stop a person's right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, so long as they don't deprvie anyone else the same. Someone posted to my jest about such protection that effective gear wasn't available - and yet I know many people that have been spared much damage by wearing such equipment.

as i've mentioned on another thread, LE issued the composites of the white van because the white van is the perp. they don't want the public to know that there's a cabal of vans run amuck. we can only hope every WV in the USA will be deported to their country of origin or returned to ford, GM or chrysler.

What confounds me is that what possible harm can you do to another individual by wearing bullet proof clothing?
Does not there have to be a victim for a crime to take place?

Question Authority !!!!!!

A one-in-a-million chance of being killed doesn't sound like something you get scared s#itless about. Do the authorities know something scarier?

I have read news articles about the arrest of a drug dealer and in the list of charges, they had as one of the offences that the guy was wearing bullet proof clothing. If I was a service station owner in the DC area, logic would tell me that it might be a good precaution to wear a bullet proof vest, just in case. To think that such an act could wind you up in jail scares me.

As long as the perp lies low, he doesn't kill anybody. Works for me.

No, I was thinking more about the description of the various vans, taillight out, etc. which came out quickly.

I truly feel sorry for Chief Moose and many of the front-man cops on this job. What a mess they've got on their hands. They may never catch this guy and if they finally arrest someone, don't believe it's the right guy until we know the whole story.

You know how we'll know it's the right guy? He won't allow himself to be taken alive. That's how.

If hundreds of people at the scene of sniper attack found handouts which included some kind of specific info on them, the national media wouldn't be able to cover it up...

I guess the obvious answer is that they DON'T want us to know, at least not yet. If the general populace is on the lookout, they are in much more danger of being apprehended, or having their "work" interfered with. It suits their purposes to have people afraid in general, less people on the streets.

I don't know, of course, but like I said in another post, this smells.

"How hard is it to scribble some maniac message on a sheet of typing paper then go to Kinkos and make 500 copies?

Yup. It would be easy to do in the office of their Washington headquarters.
