Republican Strategy if Sniper is Al Queda.

IF it turns out that the sniper is Al Queda, and signs are beginning to point towards that truth, first of all, the economy is OUT as an election issue for the next 3 weeks.

The sniper story is already consuming all the oxygen available on the cable networks. Torricelli can't be heard? NO-ONE can be heard.

There is a strategy that will either win Republicans valuable votes in this years close election, or give them a victory in Congress on a contentious issue. It is this...

IF the sniper is Al Queda, the right must immediately point out that the left is holding up the Homeland Security legislation, in the interest of creating more unionized Democrat voters.

These snipers are not going to be caught so soon that this issue will not be going on for the next three weeks. Iraq is gone as an issue, the Economy is in recovery and the Dow went up 1000 points recently...the SNIPER IS THE ISSUE, so Homeland Security IS the issue.

It's time to develop the slogans needed to illustrate that the left is playing politics with the safety of the American people.

We also have Begala to "thank" (NOT!) for the smarmy, insipid remark making light of Clinton's flagrant misuse of executive orders: "Stroke of the pen, law of the land -- kinda cool!"

You said..."It's time to develop the slogans needed to illustrate that the left is playing politics with the safety of the American people."

I say....How about, "You need to vote Democrat like you need another hole in your head....."

The notion that the democrats are running on the sniper platform is, for some reason, incredibly amusing to me.

If Democrats really want to make gun control their main election issue I say more power to them !

It will be the best thing that could happen to Republican Voter Turnout. There are a lot of single issue pro-gun voters that were planning to "sit out" this election because they didn't feel that gun issues were on the radar screen.

Thanks for filling in the blanks on Begala. He and Carville are two of the most repugnant people I have ever been exposed to.

Actually the right should start securing our borders immediately with the military.

Look...if they can use the military to find a single sniper, then why in hell can't they use the military to stop miliions of ILLEGALS from coming over here?
